A sign was posted at the front door:

Three Minute Dates at Caritas

That's right. It was time for Three Minute Dates once again. Of course, this time it was being pushed back a couple hours because GOB just posted bail in Lexington Park for solicitation last night so it could better help sunlight-adverse residents of Fandom find true love as well. Anyone who came to the bar at the normal time were free to keep drinking to help them loosen up for the dates until just before 8:00...

The lights went dark. And then, The Final Countdown began, with a spot-lit GOB striding out onto the stage and doing an illusion where he made Tino bring him a scotch. Look, he'd done like twenty of these things already. People weren't getting free magic from him anymore.

"Thank you, everyone, for coming out here on this historic night. We've reached a true milestone here, but more on that later," GOB said. It would be best to fear Round 5, where there would be a couple extra minutes for GOB to discuss the historic nature of the night. "This is, of course, Three Minute Dates. And I am, of course, a Matchmaker Named GOB." He waited for applause..... and then continued. "When I or somebody else, probably Tino, who knows? calls your name, find a table with the other person whose name was called and get to talking and see if you want to make babies within three minutes. Because after three minutes, you'll hear this sound."

The zombie drummer started doing a drum roll.

"And that's when it'll be time to move on to your next date. Got it? Good. Oh, and sorry about the surplus of adult guys. Apparently single chicks can't stand being in a town without me. Anyway, let's get started...."

If I made a blatant mistake, like skipping a character completely for a round or posting a pairing twice or accidentally making incest happen, feel free to grab me on AIM or in the OOC thread and I'll make a quick fix. Remember, attacks on your dates will get you teleported elsewhere on the island.

Also remember that most playing should happen on Saturday, but if you need to finish a thread or two on Sunday, that's fine.

Bruce had turned these dates into a habit. And since it was a habit, he was here at their normal time, quickly becoming annoyed that he didn't know it was going to change.

Still, once Billionaire Playboy Bruce Wayne entered an event, he was going to stick around for it, appearing to drink. Tino was going to get a good tip to keep the ginger ale flowing.

Cindy was here and watching everything with an amused smile on her face. She was more than happy to spend some time socializing. And, let's face it. Watching some of the students muddle through this was going to be hilarious.

Well, if Zayne was going to just be a regular citizen who was going to be here for a while, it was probably a good idea for him to get out and meet people.

Okay, granted, unless he was mistaken, the only person in town who was about his age and not a student was a vampire who murdered him last weekend. But all of his friends back on The Hot Prospect were older than him. It wouldn't be that weird, right?

Lex still wasn't entirely sure how he'd ended up here, but he'd decided that the best thing to do before starting was to stock up on his liquid courage. At least the bar had a good selection of scotch.

In a rare fit of manic confidence, Annie had actually signed herself up for this willingly.

And then promptly tried to drive Tino crazy with a "Wait, I changed my mind, can I take that back?" followed by "No, you know what? I can do this," followed by "No. No, no I can't."

She went up and back enough that Tino finally just started ignoring her. As it so happened, she was still signed up at that point.

Now she was here, Kate wasn't entirely sure why she'd signed herself up for this. Aside from there being some tiny desperate part of her that would like to be able to say she'd actually had a date sometime not in the too distant past. Which is what it felt like at the moment.

None of that she would admit out loud.

She ordered herself a Boone's Farm and settled for giving the zombies the side-eye. Eugh.

As usual, this was Ellie's fault. Just because she wasn't here, didn't mean Chuck didn't still talk to her on a bi-weekly basis and get asked about if he'd actually done anything that involved, you know, other people.

... Not dirty.

So here he was. He had a Coke from Tino, and would be over here, trying not to look too twitchy and nervous.

Hanna was here because she knew this could be a great opportunity to meat new people and socialize more. If she appeared nervous at all, it was because of the zombies. At least that's what she'd tell people.

Juliet had never done this before, but it sounded like fun: Meet new people, get her name out there, maybe even find a guy worth the trouble. She was wearing a favorite blue Missoni dress and sipping something pink and sweet as she geared up for the dates.

Jeremy liked meething new people, and Jeremy liked dates.

So it wasn't any big surprise he was here. It seemed to be a normal weekend, and he wanted to celebrate that with a bit of lighthearted fun.

Natalie wasn't sure why she was here. If asked, she was going to say she'd just stumbled on this event by accident, while privately, she was going to blame this all on last weekend and the niggling sense of wanting something.

She didn't even know. But, she was here, she had a soda, and she was looking at people with very mild interest.

Hermione was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. She'd been just bored enough to go to Caritas tonight, and hadn't noticed the dating thing till she got there. The way she figured, watching the dates might be enough entertainment.

She had no idea how her name ended up on the list, but it might be interesting once her name was called.

Lucrezia had a glass of wine while she sat at the bar. She was not sure exactly what three-minute dates were. It was possible she had hoped this was some sort of well-cooked fig recipe.
