Homecoming Brunch, The Park, Sunday Morning

The glitter moosen and beavers had been moved to the park to stand friendly guard around a cluster of tents, tables and chairs. Underneath, the Homecoming events rolled on with another maple-themed buffet and plenty of space for standing around and chatting.

The sound system played kd lang and Leonard Cohen at a low volume, to gently welcome anyone who might have gotten into the punch last night after it was spiked. This event was decidedly hangover-friendly.

Zayne was actually giving himself the day off to enjoy the rest of Homecoming weekend. He figured the droids could handle things well enough on their own while he ate and reconnected with friends. Sometimes it was good to be the boss.

Rose had gotten some tasty hot chocolate, but after two days, even she was staying away from the fried dough this morning.

She was also looking forward to one more day of catching up with people. It'd been a good weekend even if there were a lot of memories bubbling up.

Harper hadn't touched the punch last night because she knew better. She also got plenty of sleep last night, so she was refreshed and just a little bit hyper. She made her way through the crowd, looking for people she knew.

Hania would have no memories of this visit, but at least she would have seen a lot of Fandom and its inhabitants. Leto carried her in a sling on his back, and the baby sucked seemingly absentmindedly on her fingers. Leto looked for friends he had not yet met, or friends he had met but would have to say goodbye to today.

Rilla had discovered the worst possible downside to a hangover (not that she knew she had one): a baby who insisted on getting up at 5 o'clock despite Rilla's need to sleep until noon.

So it was a decidedly disgruntled two-time homecoming court member who arrived at the brunch with a baby in his basket.

She went straight for the hot tea.

Stark had a clinic shift today, but brunches were always worth at least stopping in to. And the clinic wasn't going to fall apart without him for a little while.

Lindsey knew better than to drink the punch during the latter part of dances. So he was feeling fine. Plus he was on the island with Piper. So it was a good morning for him.

There is maple. A lot of maple. And lots of coffee, too. But you can find just about anything you want on the buffet -- including Timbits.

Coffee. Jaime definitely needed coffee. And so he had a giant mug of the stuff.

And, of course, a large plate of decided unhealthy things that claimed to be 'breakfast foods'. Mmm... sugar and caffeine. The two major food groups.

Hanna went right for the coffee. It was a necessity today as she was feeling just a wee bit hungover. She decided waffles would be a good idea, too.

Annie wouldn't exactly call this a hangover, because she was pretty sure she hadn't actually been drunk and you needed to be drunk to be hungover, right? Look, it wasn't like she knew how this worked, and any drinking had been completely accidental and who spiked ginger ale anyway?

Anyway, her head hurt. And she was weirdly sluggish this morning. And she was standing by the coffee, blowing on the cup she already had and putting in the occasional ice cube to make sure it was cool enough... then downing it and getting another cup.

A girl had to do what a girl had to do.

Bruce was just going to have a glass of water and avoid most of the maple-themed foods, thank you very much. It's not that he had anything specific against maple, but he was going to have to avoid it after enough days with it. Otherwise he'd have to ramp up his workout regimen and, frankly, that would be dangerous to everyone. He'd have to start picking fights just to work off calories. Nobody needed that.

So Bruce was standing off to the side, with water.

Alistair... had slept straight through the carnival. And then he'd decided that he would not do any such thing for the whole feast... dancing... thing. Except then he'd slept through that, too.

So he'd gotten up extra early and made his way down to the brunch, proud of himself for not sleeping through it.

Five seconds later, he'd been distracted by the food, and now he was digging through a veritable mountain of it. Mmm.

One of the things Fandom did better than anywhere else Jack knew was feed a lot of people good food for free. He was going to take advantage of that with some waffles, fresh fruit, and a gallon or so of coffee.

Dave had some food. Dave had some coffee. Dave had a headache and enough memory of last night to know that he should be very embarrassed.

Dave also had his head on the table and it felt like it weighed four hundred pounds, so he wasn't really looking to move it. And yet he still found some way to eat and drink. That may have been why there was a straw in his coffee.

Miley was here, in possibly not the most put-together outfit of all time. And she was making no eye contact with anyone named Dave.

Why did she always make the mistake of kissing that guy when she wasn't entirely in control of her body? WHY?

Sure, you could say that Dave was just really attractive. Or you could blame Disney repression. Sorry, Dave.

Sookie had coffee and Timbits (which she had never seen before, since they there was a strict no Canadians policy in Bon Temps*) and was tucked to the side in a table as she kept an eye out for people she hadn't seen yet.

*not really, but why would any Canadians go there anyway?

Ryan was feeling a bit under the weather. She opted to grab some timbits and feed them to the ducks while waiting for her stomach to settle. Even if she hadn't been drinking last night, she definitely looked a little hungover.
