"We know that things have not been very okay lately," Dolf said. There was no better way to start a meeting than with an understatement, right? "People and places have been disappearing and nobody but us seems to remember they existed. And the causeway is being crazy, says the radio."

He wouldn't know. His own universe was still out of reach for him, and he didn't exactly spend a lot of time on the mainland - he still felt self-conscious about his English. "So we thought we should all talk, and come up with ideas." He shot Karla and Wesley an expectant look.

Karla glanced over at him and nodded, stepping forward. "The big problem is, we have no idea what's going on. We can't tell if there's some kind of pattern, if there was some kind of precipitating event, where the vanished things are going--or even if there is a where. Right now, we're dealing with a lot of suppositions and half-guesses. That's one of the reasons we called this meeting today, before people started going home for the holiday."

If anyone was able to leave, that was.

"One of the things we need is more information. Are people vanishing from your world? Who? When? What happens when objects and places vanish? Are there things that are linking the disappeared across multiverses? The more information we have, the better we'll be able to figure out what is going on. And from there, figure out how to reverse it."

"We understand that some of you may have lost people, and it might be difficult to talk about," Wesley made sure to add. "But if you're at all able, it'd be invaluable for us if you could share what you've been experiencing, both here and in your home worlds. And if you know of anything from your home or anywhere else that might be responsible for what's been happening, even if you aren't certain, that could be incredibly useful as well. It's difficult to propose any sort of a solution without an idea of what the cause is."

Hadn't stopped him from all but living in the library over the past week, though.

"So." He sat down in one of the chairs that had been set up in a huge circle. "Would anyone particularly like to start?"

Raven was clinging to a cup of tea -- a caffeinated variety -- for dear life. She'd felt even weaker this morning, and it had taken a huge effort for her to get out of bed.

Of course Ender was here. There wasn't any way on Earth he wouldn't be.

He paid close attention to everything that was said, and kept a close eye on everyone else around - he was going to try and talk to as many of them as he could.

Isabel was watching carefully as people arrived, looking for familiar faces. Every once in a while she'd take a sip of the coffee she was holding.

Stephanie wouldn't miss a meeting like this under any circumstances, but when her calls home to Cassandra and Oracle[*] had gone unanswered the way so many people's seemed to be, if the lists in the dorm hallways were any indication, her presence here was pretty much set in stone.

She chewed agitatedly on her thumbnail as she leaned against a wall, at least until she took a muffin and . . . started worrying it to crumbs instead.

Jack had never been much for reserve meetings when he was a student, but .... well. Things had changed. He was far quieter than normal as he sat to the side, trying to pick out anyone he knew.

He'd been up late last night, trying to place calls back to people in his own world that he wasn't on horrible terms with. The list was small, however. And two out of three of them didn't seem to exist anymore.

Jack was there quietly looking at everyone else and trying to decide exactly how to talk to people about this.

He was also looking at the amount of people who had people missing.

"Yeah," he said quietly. "This can't be good."

Warren was just kind of quietly keeping to himself, looking around at the people who had gathered and frowning.

He didn't know if he had anyone missing. He really only had one person at home, and the more he wanted to be sure his dad was safe, the more hesitant he was to just pick up the phone and make the call.

Ronan grabbed a mug of coffee -- he rather thought he'd need the caffeine, the next little while -- and looked around.

Powers, he felt old. Had he really been gone from Fandom that long? Somehow over the summer, he'd never really noticed how young the students looked.

Anakin slipped in quietly, not wanting to stop the students from discussing things on their own but feeling strongly that as sheriff, he had a duty to try to understand what was going on here.

His brief conversation with Luke earlier in the day had only cemented his worries, as had the three attempts it had taken to get across the causeway this morning. He was very tempted to cancel Thanksgiving in Stars Hollow and make Rory and Juliet come to Fandom instead.

Claudia was there, wavering between determination and worry -- and looking around for Scully. She'd gotten a response from her checking in texts to Joshua and the Warehouse crew, but she was sure it was just a matter of time before one of them went AWOL, too.

Anyone who might have met Jamie at one point or another has probably noted that wherever he goes he's always had a sense of... whimsy. A small grin on his face like he was always about to spring a joke on you. One that always tried to be the center of attention.

Right now Jamie was situated in the back of a room with a completely uncharacteristic grim expression.

Yeah. This wasn't good.

Elphaba had missed a few weeks of the reserves, but it was hardly like she'd be shy about returning. She grabbed a cup of tea off the table to warm her hands, and paid very close attention to what the leaders had to say.

It probably said a lot about the gravity of the situation that Topher had not only showed up, but was looking genuinely concerned about the whole thing.

Still no coffee for him, though. He'd brought Mountain Dew.

Vincent was here, with a huge tray full of goodies to add to the refreshments table.

Yeah, he'd spent pretty much all night cooking, and not for Thanksgiving.

Since she didn't have any of her friends here to be worried with and freaked out at -- and no way to send a letter to Princess Celestia all about how having friendships could mean sharing your worries and freak outs -- Pinkie headed over to the Community Center for the town meeting.

She'd be over here in the corner with her knees audibly knocking together.

Jaina had never been a reserves person, but she wanted to know what was going on, so. She stayed off to the sides mostly, but with a cup of coffee because her sleep schedule was forever ruined. #portalocityfail

Zoe was looking especially stoic as she led Grace through the crowd. She could see how upset some people were, and that only made her need to appear calm even stronger.

Mercy had been trying to reach her mother since Sunday. Only apparently, not only was there no such number, there was no Portland. And, when she'd weakened enough to try and reach Bran, Montana seemed to have entirely disappeared.

So far, thank goodness, Billy wasn't having trouble reaching anyone, but he still made his way to the reserves meeting, curious to see if there was anything he could do to help.

Raven wasn't exactly comfortable sharing with the entire group -- she'd rather talk to someone like Karla or Tara privately -- but what she had to say could be important. "I have not returned to my home to see if it has been affected by these events, though I plan to do so tonight," she said. "However, my soul is connected to the multiverse. It is how I teleport. And whatever is happening is affecting it as well."
