New students and teachers had arrived on the island, so what better time than tonight to be at the bar? Okay, so maybe not. People really ought to be getting ready to start school, but the possibility was there.

Guy was just glad that he didn't need to be doing any of that this summer. Being a bartender slash superhero was way easier than teaching that lot.

"Gin and tonic, please, Guy," Sarah rasped as she came up to the bar.

A simple 'hello' was not in the cards, but at least she was permascowling a little less than she had the day before.

That look probably undermined the politeness somewhat. Also, she didn't say it that often.

Well, there was that. Guy set the drink down in front of her, pushing it forward. "When's your class?"

"Wednesday," she said, taking the glass and not wasting time before a sip. "Why, intending to come and learn something? Think you'd stand out a little."

"Is it from the area?" Guy asked dryly. Because they didn't have the selection available out on Oa, after all.

"I traded in a classroom for a scrapyard," Dean said conversationally as he pulled up a seat. "And people park spaceships in it. Nobody ever parked spaceships in the art room, Guy."

It was entirely possible that a week of hauling scrap metal around had started to erode Dean's brain.

Guy took one look at him and put down a bottle of whiskey next to an empty glass. "You should charge 'em."

"Is it fair business to start charging people who were parked there before I even bought the place? I mean, I haven't even had the chance to inform them of the change in management yet."

A beat. Guy was Dean's favorite. Guy and whiskey, and he was going to reach for the one that would give him the more pleasant sort of punch if he were to put it into his mouth, thank you.

"Not that I know who any of those things belong to. It isn't like they have licence plates or name-tags on them for easy identification."

The idea did have its merits. All the more room for Dean to put his... unique artistic endeavors, or one. But they were also talking about relocating the vehicles of people who probably had, like, crazy space guns or something like that.
