Parents' Weekend Brunch, Sunday Morning to Afternoon, The Park

The sky was cloudy but the weather was just the right side of warm as the sun rose on the traditional Parent's Weekend Brunch. There were tables, chairs, and a buffet laid out with all manner of breakfast (and not-so-breakfasty) foods.

But that wasn't all, there was also a small gift bag for each guest with cookies, stickers, and a bingo card for anyone who hadn't gotten their mingle on enough this weekend.

Wheatley had had great success perfecting his new Motion Protocol! "Yes, this is going terribly well," he muttered to himself, as he rolled... very, very slowly... across the grass.

Yes. At the rate he was going, he would finally reach the stairs in about... three hours... and roll all the way back down to the beach.

Where apparently humans enjoyed picking things up.

Victor had made vague brunch plans with Dr. Pym the night before, and he was curious if Scott had made it through the rest of the night okay -- when somebody was your double and you zapped the hell out of him, you got to feel vaguely responsible.)

He wandered through the crowd, keeping an eye out for anybody he wanted to talk with.

This time, since he didn't have to work today and yesterday had wound up being kind of cool, Topher actually intended to stick around once he showed up. Look at him being all social. Look at it.

Lydia was not in a good mood after Jackson had bailed on her last night (and Jim's sass at the field day hadn't helped either). Anyone who spotted her this morning could find her texting furiously while getting her pout on.

Alec was here, and... well, not really mingling, but certainly standing up and walking around sort of twitchily.

Though strictly speaking, this weekend had been a little bit more socializing than he felt he could really handle, and he intended to have a nice long training session as soon as he was finished here. He just wouldn't feel right not making himself available in case Izzy wanted to talk before she left.

Yeah, this thing was way too early. April was hungover and she wanted to go back to sleep, okay?

But before she could do that, she was just going to make out with her gay boyfriend Derek while sitting in his lap really quickly. It was actually probably a little gross to watch.

Then she hopped off, Derek and Ben went on their way, and April put her head down on the table to nap.

Jackson looked far too comfortable and confident being here, considering that he'd sent a rather blunt text message – Lydia, please give back my spare house key at your earliest convenience as we are no longer dating, specifically – just prior to showing up at the brunch.

But he had his reasons, and they were none of your damn business.

Korra had intended on spending today brooding in her room again, but when she'd taken Naga for her walk, she'd been insistent on coming here instead. Probably for the food, Korra guessed.

Or, she could walk around with a plate, nibbling on things while watching people, both for weird Downworlder things as well as for cute boys to flirt with while she was still here.

Because Alec would love that, clearly. Like her trip to Demon Marcus, too.

Yeah, there was a little robot wandering around with a loudly protesting potato again today.

GLaDOS was really going to have to figure out a way to remote-control Atlas or something; she just didn't have the capacity to do it at the moment, much less implement anything. Sigh.

"I know you have some design elements in common with that moron Wheatley, but is it too much to ask for you to evolve a little? Oh, wait. Those words are too big for you, aren't they? That's pretty pathetic, since at the moment I'M A POTATO."

Tahiri had spent a lot of the weekend doing a lot of staring, but mostly because there were so many humans compared to what she was used to on Yavin.

She was still perfectly happy to wander around and explore things; she and Anakin had spent a lot of time wandering around the island yesterday, which had been fun, if less eventful than she'd been hoping for.

Still! She got to spend the weekend with her best friend for the first time in a long time. She was in a very good mood, and in prime babbling form if you happened to strike up a conversation.

Jessica was actually going to spend some time in public with Peter in a little bit, but first she was going to be kind of off on her own in the crowd. Part of it was that she wasn't used to having him around at all. They'd probably seen each other as much this weekend as they had since she was 'born.' It was weird.

But also, if anything really weird happened, then there would be spider-people ready on either end of the brunch, and shut up yes she did think like that.

Percy was just going to hang out by the food table and try to look inconspicuous. Now that he knew his dad knew about him and Luke, he was a little off balance.

His dad hadn't reacted badly or anything like that but there had been some stern words and warnings. Percy had expected that but he still wasn't really okay with them. There were reasons for that.

He ate some more and tried not to think about it.

Jaina had grabbed herself a plate of food and found a table where she could sit and watch everyone. She seemed to be spending equal time looking for faces that she might know and reading through a datapad to see if she'd missed anything important back home while she'd been here.

That was probably a familiar sight to some people...

Dill had heard of scones before, but he'd never had one. That was about to change. And if he liked it enough, his next-born-or-adopted child would be named Scone Penderghast.

The Penderghasts really were strange people, yes. As demonstrated by how delighted Rosemary was about each item at the food table.

She'd seen them all before, of course. Except scones. Scones were a mystery.

As weird as Tommy felt being around all of these people, he wasn't about to turn down free food. Plus, if he had his face stuffed full of something, maybe people would think twice about talking to him. It was nice to consider, at least.

Peter's attempts to look accessible and friendly for any potential bodyguards-to-be were probably only slightly thwarted by the suit.

And the fact he was sitting at a picnic table checking his phone every thirty seconds.

Tyrion had taken almost one-fourth of one of the 40 cakes, and he carried a plate heaped with that and a medley of brunch products over to a table. He saw no reason to stand and eat if he didn't have to.

He rested a book next to his place, but he wasn't really reading. Instead, his eyes swept over the crowd, trying to determine if there was anyone he needed to speak with.

Letitia was honestly ready to go home at this point. Of course it was nice to see the twins, but she'd had about all the hanging out in the park sipping mediocre tea any one woman needed.

She took some tea and a plate of fruit over to a table, game face firmly in place.
