Well, the dates were over, which was good news for April, who was not a speed-dating fan, but bad news for Tino, who was convinced that April was going to kill him with her eyes or something. He was still making her elaborate drinks which she continued to simply set on the bar for display purposes, which gave April an idea. To the three-minute dates crowd at large that had yet to disperse, she announced, "Hey, guys. Whoever can order the most difficult drink from this guy gets to drink free all night. Tino's buying."

Then she chugged some beer.

April really didn't enjoy Valentine's Day week. Drinking, though. Drinking, she enjoyed.

Sparkle had suggested beers and staring at people's asses to unwind after the speed dating, and Bay was entirely in favor of both of those things. "So this is the fabled bar that doesn't card," she mused aloud.

"No ID necessary, just pocket change and a high zombie tolerance," Sparkle agreed, sitting himself down next to Bay with a grin. "It's not a bad place when you get used to it. How long have you been on the island without seeing Caritas yet, huh?"

Shame on any big sibling that hadn't taken her here from the get-go!

"So it is," April agreed dispassionately. The novelty had worn off after a while, but as a nineteen-year-old who got to drink for free in public once a week, she still saw the value of it. "What can I get you?"

Here, have a somewhat surprised Emily; it's not you, Bay, it's just the fact she didn't think of you as someone drinking beer. Odd how that works. "It loses it's shine pretty quick, but it's a nice place, don't you think?"

Jack had specifically wanted to say hello to April, and he was momentarily taken aback to notice the remnants of the three-minute-dates set-up left in the bar.

"It's speed dating day again, isn't it?" he asked. "Hello."

"Tragically, yes," April reported, turning to shoot Tino a glare before refocusing on Jack. She pointed to one of the 'display' drinks on the bar. "Free cocktail?"

"Hiiiiii..." Navaan said, giving Jack a toothy grin. "Is it still cold outside? Cause my thighs make great earmuffs."

The narration would apologize for having a slightly tipsy Navaan hitting on you like that, but, honestly, sober Navaan would be even worse.

Kaidan would stay here and drink, thanks, until the place closed. Tonight had been a stupid idea and a perfectly fine reminder that he wasn't in any state of mind to date... anyone, let alone in three minutes.

But scotch? Scotch was good.

After watching Kaidan for a bit, April did her best to assume a wise-bartender sort of voice, then began to ask, "Something troublin' you, kiddo?"

Unfortunately, she wound up having a coughing fit halfway through the last word, so the desired effect was kind of... not present.

After his hosting duties were over, Bruce made his way back to the bar, where a drink was waiting for him. Thanks, Tino.

Still, just because he already had a drink didn't mean he wouldn't talk to the non-Tino bartender. "Both working the bar and taking place in the dates. Good job pulling double duty."

Okay, actually, Jessica needed some kind of drink after that. It wasn't even a bad time. It just made her confront some of her stuff when she really wasn't expecting to do that today. Hence, a drink. And maybe she could see if Tino had any suggestions on what could both thank Loki and make him feel terrible about what he had done. Maybe?

A couple of lagers, a rum and Coke... Jono probably didn't need anything else to drink tonight, but he was coming to the realization that, no matter how much of a charmer he was a decade ago, speed dating... wasn't really his speed. So what harm did another few drinks do tonight?

There had been drinking, invitations to sex, and then more drinking. The only way this night could get better would be to have one (or more!) of those invitations accepted. Until that happened, Navaan would remain perched at the bar, cheerfully drinking and, yeah, trying to hit on yet more people.

This bar was awesome. They should host this every day!

Emily wasn't often too focused on how fancy was her drink, but how effective it was, but it there was free booze being offered, she would try to get it on principle.

Éponine didn't actually have any money to buy a drink. Technically she did, but in an attempt to prove to no one in particular that she could take care of money better than her father could she was resolutely hoarding what she had left of that twenty-dollar bill.

Which was not to say that she didn't want a drink; she did. Desperately, since she'd been in Fandom for a week now and the initial confused haze of disorientation that had kept her thoughts from drifting off into some of the old patterns -- or thinking about what she'd left behind -- had largely worn off. She was just stubbornly determined not to break down and spend the money on it.

This, of course, didn't mean she was above hanging about and hoping someone might offer to buy one for her. Besides, it was warm in here, so until or unless someone kicked her out she'd be content to curl up in a corner booth and just watch people. Speculating about them or making up stories in her head about them was its own kind of distraction.
