The collective wisdom of the Student Council this week pretty much boiled down to "body glitter is AMAZING", and that somehow translated to a space theme for prom. The ceiling was covered in twinkling lights, and there were glitter-drenched foam planets, moons and asteroids hanging in corners and above the dance floor and buffet.

There was glitter everywhere, of course, because "excellent focus" wasn't really a hallmark of anyone this week and vials of the stuff kept getting knocked over. There was also containers of body glitter on the tables for those who might not be sparkly enough yet and some slightly questionable artwork of scantily clad aliens with gravity-defying body parts to take pictures next to because teenagers under the effects of sex pollen made the best decorating choices.

The food trended toward the chocolate-covered and supposedly aphrodisiac (with plenty of edible glitter added in, of course) and the punch was unspiked for the moment.

The lights were down low, there were plenty of dark corners, the music was a little Marvin Gaye-heavy and the chaperones, frankly, had their work cut out for them tonight.

"My friends have never once taken me out to dinner."

This was because Cade had shitty friends.

"I think that's a problem with your friends, not mine," Stiles said. "I can't help my friends are nice."

This would be the only time he would ever call Derek nice.

"Your friend threw dead animals at our window," Cade pointed out. "How is that nice?"

"The thought behind it was nice!" Stiles insisted. "If a bit creepy, yes. He couldn't help it, he's not completely human and has animal instincts or something."

Excuse him for zoning out for a second as he thought about what else those animal instincts applied to---no, wait, Derek was gross. Stupid pollen.

Cade just crossed his (shirtless, because Cade was special) arms over his chest and stared at Stiles. "Really creepy. And I know creepy."

"Creepy is his thing," Stiles said with a shrug. "You get used to it. At least he stopped being super creepy with the dead stuff after I complained?"

"Because an adult listening to a teenager is karking normal?" Cade replied.

"Well everyone should listen to me." He was the brains of this operation!

Cade snorted. "I don't."

And Cade looked like a Chippendale refugee at Prom, so clearly he was living right.

Don't worry, Stiles only looked this good because a creepy older man (who was not Derek) liked buying him clothes.

"Well...you should."

"Why?" Cade wondered.

"Um...well..." Huh. Nobody's ever asked that before. "It'd make my life easier?"

"And I care about that...why?" Cade wondered.

"Because a happy roommate is a good roommate," Stiles said. "I made the dead animals stop because you didn't like it, didn't I?"

Okay he didn't like them either but still.

"Were you going to keep them otherwise?" Cade wondered.

"What the hell would I do with a dead animal?" he asked.

"No karking idea," Cade said, "but if you start stuffing them and giving them names or something, I'm making you move out."

"Fair enough," Stiles said. "The feeling's mutual. No stuffed animals."

Cade made a face. "Deal."
