The beach- Monday afternoon/evening

Okay, so the weather on the unofficial first day of summer could have definitely been more summery. It wasn't cold or raining, though, just not as warm as Kitty would like for a Memorial Day party. And really, at this point, the weather just needed to stop messing with her plans. It was a shorts-and-bikini-top-under-a-hoodie type of day.

But the posters had been around town for days, there were drinks and snacks set up and music playing, and there was a little portable grill set up that someone else might have to take care of because Kitty didn't really want to. Everything was set up, so hopefully people showed up.

"So, a tattoo, huh?"

Kitty had listened to radio, of course she had to ask.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." So he was just going to go with flat out lies today, it seemed.

"That bad, huh?" she asked.

[robinonadderall]

"No." Yes. "If I don't acknowledge it then it's not there."

Mm, seventeen-year-old boy logic. Actually...that logic probably goes for men of all ages.

"It made radio, so I'm thinking other people will keep acknowledging it for you," Kitty told him.

[robinonadderall]

"Why hasn't anybody sued those squirrels for a breach of privacy yet?" Stiles asked. "Huh. I sound like Amanda Bynes."

[throughaphase]

"You do. Also I think being squirrels, they don't have anything to really sue for," she said thoughtfully. "I mean, they get paid in rum."

[robinonadderall]

"I like rum," Stiles said. "I could sue them enough to have me covered until I can legally buy rum of my own."

"I'm not sure that would actually work in a courthouse outside of Fandom," Kitty said. "What with normal laws and all."

[robinonadderall]

"A lot of things don't work outside of Fandom," he said. "I wouldn't have been able to do that tattoo thing legally outside of Fandom. Not without some unsanitary tools and prison tattoo practices happening."

Though Scott will somehow manage to pull off the underage tattoo thing soon. Werewolves get all the special perks.

"You might have been watching the wrong movies," Kitty said. "Or no one really cared much about parental permission for piercings with me. What'd you get, anyway?"

"I'd really rather not say." It was so very embarrassing. "It's not a naked lady or anything though, so you can sleep well knowing that."

"Is it words? Did they misspell something?" She was totally expecting something misspelled over a naked lady.

[robinonadderall]

"What? No, oh my god I was completely sober when it happened," Stiles said. "I am a little more responsible than that."

"Is it obvious I've been practicing for when my dad sees it?"

[throughaphase]

"Maybe a little," she admitted. "Are you planning on showing your dad?"

[robinonadderall]

"No, but it's my dad, he figures everything out eventually," Stiles said. "Except the whole werewolf thing. Though I guess that's not really in the realm of possibility for him just yet."

"Can you keep it from him for a year till you're eighteen?" she asked.

Kitty was really the worst influence in keeping things from parents.

[robinonadderall]

"Oh if I can pull it off I'm keeping it from him my whole life," he said. "It's just things don't work out for me that way."

[throughaphase]

"Why'd you get it anyway?" she wondered.

[robinonadderall]

"Jim Kirk's a jackass," Stiles mumbled. "It was---I guess it was sort of a dare."

[throughaphase]

"So you got dared into permanently altering yourself?" She wasn't trying to sound judgey, but he'd definitely probably made better decisions.

[robinonadderall]

"I have what doctors call 'poor impulse control'. It's a thing," he said. "A stupid thing."

[throughaphase]

"At least it's apparently not anywhere obvious, and you can always get it removed if you want," she said. "And you've learned a valuable lesson for the future."

There was a long pause before Stiles shook his head. "I'll probably still do stupid and impulsive things."

One day he'll get Derek's initials tattooed on him for gay chicken, just you wait.

"Just maybe different ones?" At least lie about it, Stiles.
