The beach- Monday afternoon/evening

Okay, so the weather on the unofficial first day of summer could have definitely been more summery. It wasn't cold or raining, though, just not as warm as Kitty would like for a Memorial Day party. And really, at this point, the weather just needed to stop messing with her plans. It was a shorts-and-bikini-top-under-a-hoodie type of day.

But the posters had been around town for days, there were drinks and snacks set up and music playing, and there was a little portable grill set up that someone else might have to take care of because Kitty didn't really want to. Everything was set up, so hopefully people showed up.

Derek just rolled his eyes. Because Disney love wasn't a good measure of control. "Yeah, and when she dates someone else, I'm sure he'll keep himself in line."

A beat.

"Stop distracting me for the tattoo."

"It's really none of your business." Yes, the nosiest person on the planet was pulling that card.

Really, Stiles? Really?

"Is it a flower?"

[robinonadderall]

Stiles rolled his eyes. "Yes, Derek, it's a flower. You got me. Now go away."

Not a flower then. "Is it a name?"

[robinonadderall]

"Weird, this isn't you going away," he said. "You do understand the concept of going away, right?"

"It's embarrassing, isn't it?" Oh, he was enjoying this too much.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles sighed. "Yes, it's very embarrassing. Now will you please drop it?"

"No."

[robinonadderall]

Stiles made a strangling motion with his hands, wishing he could hit Derek without breaking his own fingers. "It's a wolf, you stupid asshole! The tattoo is of a wolf!"

He tried to stomp off after saying that but stomping off in the sand wasn't very effective.

And Derek? Derek was making some very undignified noises as he attempted not to laugh.

"Fuck off!" The bird was so getting flipped at you, Derek. "At least I have an excuse not to have you trying to kill me with jogging any time soon, asshole."

"You get a week off," Derek shot back. See how nice he was being?

Stiles turned back around on his heel, effectively getting sand in his sneakers. Gross. "You're buying me a gift. You owe me for...emotional damage."

That seemed fair, Derek got to mock and Stiles got a gift out of it.

"For your own stupid choices?" Derek shot back.

[robinonadderall]

"For being a terrible fake boyfriend," he said. "I make stupid choices all the time. It's sort of a hobby."

"I noticed that," Derek replied dryly.

[robinonadderall]

"You get me something that doesn't suck and I'll actually show you the tattoo." Hey, this was a great idea, why didn't he think of this right away?

"Really." Oh, don't challenge him, Stiles. Both of you will fail in magical ways.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles shrugged. "Sure. It's not like the tattoo is somewhere embarrassing."

Derek took a moment to give Stiles his full attention, stalking forward to figure out just where it was without any help from Stiles, thank you. "Not on your lower back then."

[robinonadderall]

"Come on, do you really think I'd get a tramp stamp?" You thought so little of him, Derek. "Scott would never let me live it down."

Damn right he did.

He prodded at Stiles' bicep to check there. "Yeah, I'm sure that would stop you."

[robinonadderall]

"Hey no!" Stiles smacked at Derek's hand. "No, I want a gift in exchange for me voluntarily showing you, not you poking me until it hurts."

That sounded a lot better in his head.
