The Beach [Sunday afternoon into evening]

Anakin came to the school because he'd been called about a delivery to his office. It turned out to be crates full cinnamon buns, Wookiee cookies, and sausages.

So. Many. Sausages.

Anakin didn't remember ordering any of this stuff, and there was enough of it to feed dozens, so there was now an impromptu beach party going on, complete with cantina music, as Anakin cooked up all the food.

Watch out for the way the sun glared off of the water--it was a little lens-flarey.

Cade followed the smell of free food and was unpleasantly surprised to see who was running the party. "Oh, it's you," he grunted. "Got anything to drink?"

"What are we celebrating?" Ender asked.

He hadn't spoken to his grandfather-in-might-as-well-be-law in quite some time, so seeing him on the beach grilling sausages... well.

"Free food showing up," Anakin replied with a tiny smile. "They wouldn't last, so I thought I'd share."

With an expression and tone that deadpan, it was hard to tell if Ender was serious.

Anakin smirked. "I just witnessed what happened when we didn't vet the gardening company enough. Yes, I checked the food. No poisons, no one will shrink three feet overnight, and I don't think anyone's going to accidentally be turning into the evil version of themselves."

Around here it was good to cover all your bases.

Riley tended to stay away from the beach because he sunburned very easily. But, he made an exception today because there was music that he'd never heard before and food that smelled good.

He could risk a sunburn for that.

Riley waved back. "Probably not hungry enough to eat all this food I see but I'm sure I could help you make a dent in it. There a holiday I'm missing? Or special event?"

Alana had followed her nose and ears through town to the beach. It was a nice day; why not spend it outside? And if being outside meant crashing an impromptu party, all the better.

"Is there a reason for this party?" she asked no one in particular.

"Just a lot of extra food," Anakin called from the grill. "Need anything?"

Tahiri had tried to make it in time for graduation, she really had, but en route she'd come across an incident involving a shipload of refugees and a disastrous run-in with an asteroid belt and as a Jedi, she couldn't really be expected to stand by and just let that happen, right?

She hadn't thought it would take more than a day or so to get them to safety, but the vagaries of time as it related to Fandom thought otherwise, apparently, so here she was, a week late.

"Well," she said, coming down the beach (barefoot, of course) with a quizzical look on her face, "this was unexpected."

Considering Jaina had just been here last week, and she was generally a busy person, she hadn't expected to be back here already. But then she'd mentioned it to Jag, who asked her if she specifically had anything to do that day, and then brought up that her parents had run off for days at a time for less, and by the time she'd grudgingly admitted that that was totally true he'd already booked her portal.

So. She was here.

The cantina music was a nice touch, she thought.

She hadn't noticed the date here yet.
