Caritas- Tuesday

Kitty wouldn't be here as late as she usually was on work nights, due to needing to catch a portal to Westchester tomorrow for a funeral and mansion-fixing. She had a lot of mixed feelings about it, too. It'd be good to see everyone again, but the circumstances sucked.

Distractions would be nice. Also the zombies were practicing a new song for a gig and she really didn't want to listen to it.

"You know, one of these days," Irene said, taking a seat at the bar and nodding towards the zombies, "they might just make it big. They've really got quite the work ethic, for dead people."

Seriously. For alive people, for that matter.

"They have a manager and an upcoming gig. It's impressive, for dead people," Kitty nodded. "Want to buy a CD? One of their two?"

"People still listen to CDs?" Irene quipped. "...actually, I might. If I ever get back in touch with people at home, I'm sure I'd win all the points for having an actual zombie CD."

Sherlock would probably adore it, if she ever got a chance to talk to him again.

"Oh, thank god. They're apparently popular outside of Fandom but no one here's that interested. Have you ever seen a disappointed zombie?" Kitty asked.

"Smart woman," Kitty said. "It's something I'm actively trying to avoid now."

"Can't say I blame you. I'll buy one on the way out. Maybe a few, for gifts," Irene decided. "Isn't that the sort of thing that Martha Stewart's always advocating? Just having gifts on hand for people just in case?"

Because obviously Martha had meant zombie CDs for that, and not, like, a scented candle or something. Oh, well. Irene had never claimed to be an expert.

After drinking tequila the night before Jayne thought he would take it easy today.

He was just going to drink beer.

Right after he stopped boggling at the zombie band.

"What's a CD?" Jayne asked as he took a seat at the bar, not taking his eyes off the band just in case they mounted an attack. They looked like dead readers. But with musical instruments.

"Both," Jayne replied and still keeping his eyes on the zombies. "Apparently farther along in the future then you mugs are. Can I get a beer with out those things eating my brain?"

Allie had realized that moping about on her own wasn't going to much to improve her mood. So for the first time in a while, she actually went in search of company.

"Hey," she said, sliding into a seat at the bar.

If vampires could flush, Allie would have. Instead she ducked her head in embarrassment. "It's stupid. And I'm being ridiculous. I shouldn't have said anything."
