Groovy Tunes, Sunday
Jono's yesterday had been fairly fantastic, actually. There had been food, and... not food, which had been every bit as enjoyable as the food. And yes, he'd even enjoyed the shopping more than he'd ever care to admit. Even if he was probably never going to wear that dress again. Ever. Because honestly.
But today brought some vague sort of acceptance that he still had responsibilities even when he had temporary breasts, and so he was at the Groovy Tunes today doing paperwork, balancing budgets, and enthusiastically singing along with anything and everything that came on the radio. His voice as a woman wasn't really familiar to him, so it was a fun game trying to figure out what songs he could handle and which ones made him regret opening his mouth. But, so help him, he was singing.
He wasn't looking forward to this ending, almost as much as he was. But really, he rarely ever felt at home in his own skin, so this was less an inconvenience and more like a novelty. And there were worse people to bear a striking resemblance to than Joan Jett, anyway.
[Open! OCD-free! Lovin' Rock and Roll!]

"Hokaaay." Parker sighed, wishing she could fix this. "Maybe I can show him, somehow... Or maybe we can fix it so Hardison doesn't get kidnapped so often in the future."

"... An inability to keep loved ones safe certainly wouldn't help with that need to constantly get out there and throw himself into danger, true enough," he noted. "If he cares for you both, he's going to want to protect you both. Preventing kidnapping seems like a large part of that."

Maybe she should talk to Eliot about this. So he'd know she had his back in protecting Hardison. And talk to Hardison about how she didn't want there to be a Kidnap Calendar in his future.

Somewhat. The same way that having Morton with him while patrolling Glacia had made Jono pace himself a little more than he otherwise might.
Yes, essentially reducing his own brain to mush had been his idea of taking it easy, up until Emma had showed him a somewhat less stupid way of going about it.

That last part, of course, said with his telepathy, with his usual, more masculine voice.

... There was probably some cognitive dissonance going on, there, between the masculine voice in her head and the feminine face that was creating it. Oh well. Jono had known worse cases of that.
Had slept with a few, even.

"More superpowers!" she cheered. "That's how you do it. It's harder when you don't have any, let me tell you."

Jono could appreciate that sort of thinking, there. He tended to lean complicated a little more than he used to, these days, granted. But the whole Weapon X thing had kind of made him wary of rushing into things without having a game plan, first.

And probably best to not cling to that feeling too much, granted, but it had been entirely too long since Jono had chased down a criminal or just outright saved a life.

Yes. That. And not the other half-dozen reasons he'd given earlier in the conversation for continuing to go out and do stupid things even when doing so was unnecessary. Absolutely.

Really, he'd gone a while, last year, without a head on his shoulders. So...
"If you ever do need a telepathic, perpetually burning former superhero to step in and assist, I'm easy enough to find. If I'm not here, I'm probably at Dr. Lecter's. And, oddly enough, I actually have a phone I can make use of. Which might be easier than making your way to Hannibal's house trying to seek me out."

A beat.
"I haven't slept there in a few weeks, though."
Right, he had a bed up there and everything, didn't he? Oops.

... And silently hoping that Parker intended to pay for those CDs that were being slipped into her bag, there.
"I'm bloody terrible at sleeping. Go figure."
