Over by the front door was a sign reading:

Earlier in the evening there was general milling about and Tino serving drinks and such, but then, just before 8, music swelled.

"They said true love was too hard to find

But you gave it a shot, hoping you were just blind

(Or Tino did as a surprise)
Because maybe three minutes could change the whole game

Frank danced onto the stage, martini in one hand, which he promptly drank. Fortunately he still had another martini in the other hand to gesture with as the music picked up.

You'll find love! Or maybe a friend
Whatever the case, you won't want it to end
Only three minutes? That's not enough!
I guess you'd better cut out the fluff, because...

A gong sounded - just as it would at the end of all rounds - as Frank left the stage with two empty glasses in his place.

[OOC: Three minutes = ten comments total, five per person. You don't need to do your threads chronologically, but try not to Joss yourself. Any dates where Randy the RNG Love Potioned you has an asterisk (*) next to your name in the subject line. Everyone who opted in has TWO RNGed Love Potion Rounds, but ALL PEOPLE are welcome to use the love potion in more rounds if they would like, whether you asked for love potion in the signups or not.

Starting the OCD! HAVE AT IT.

If I made a blatant mistake, like skipping a character completely for a round or posting a pairing twice, feel free to grab me on AIM or in the OOC thread and I'll make a quick fix.

Also remember that most playing should happen on Saturday, but if you need to finish things up on Sunday, that's fine.

Lucille had only signed up for this because she was bored and because it would come across as respectably sociable. Once at the bar she felt out of place. How had the world changed so much that a lady could go to a bar on her own, with the intent to talk to strangers? On the other hand, she had no reason to be concerned about her reputation, and at least that was something.

Dante gave Frank the Booze Salute with his glass and then proceded to down it.

He did not pay any attention as to whether Frank responded. He felt they were on the same wavelength.

So far as Sparkle was concerned, the drinking beforehand was the best part of the dating process. Sure, the dates were great fun and all, but nothing serious ever really came of them. And anyway, Frank was putting on a pretty excellent pre-date-show. Sparkle absolutely had to laugh and applaud, a beer close at hand.

There had been a crowd going in here when Rey was passing by, so she'd gone in basically to see what was happening. And when Tino had handed her something to sign, she did, because that's what everyone else was doing.

She was never making that mistake again.

Steve had no idea who had signed him up for this, but he had a few ideas. Tino not making any eye contact with him was a good start, for instance.

He drank his beer, mostly to look sociable.

Ada was very much going to need a little bit of courage before this, so she got Tino to give her something utterly fruity and girly and possibly barely more sugar than booze.

But it had fruit in it, and she did know how to tie a cherry stem into a knot, because her cousins were the best worst. So there was that.

Hardison had been playing on his phone when he'd entered Caritas, remotely taking down a hedge fund manager's network before he could buy enough controlling shares of a medical company to be able to influence the price. As such, he missed the sign on the door letting him know what he was in for.

Seeing Caritas busier than he was expecting, he signed up for some kind of VIP list (who didn't wanna be a VIP) and then settled in at the bar with a beer, texting Parker and Eliot.

Y'all should come down, they're having some kind of pre-Mardi Gras party at Caritas, I think.

Yo, lots of people are here. Spotted your TA. And the mayor. UGH and that vampire.

I think they're setting up a stage or something? Are they gonna do some kind of talent show maybe?

And then, halfway through Frank's song, Hardison realized what he'd accidentally signed up for. I HAVE MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE.
