The Park, Monday Evening

All good (or traumatizing, or simply downright strange) things had to end. Some time after the sun had begun to dip down behind the horizon, a portal swirled back into existence in the park. It sent its call out quietly, understandable only on a certain frequency - but it was compelling and unstoppable.

It was time for the possible-children of Fandom to return home.

Anders had some wild thoughts of hiding Carys somewhere on the island so he didn't have to give her up, but he wasn't sure it would even work. It was with real reluctance he walked her to the edge of the portal and rested a hand lightly on her shoulder.

"Sorry you didn't get to see Mommy this time," he said awkwardly. "But I'll tell her all about you."

"I missed her," Carys admitted, clinging to Anders' hand. She knew she would see her Mommy and Daddy both on the other side of the portal, but she was sad and missing these tiny versions already. "But she was being brave on an adventure, right?"

"Something like that," Anders agreed. "When you get home, hug her. Hug her a lot."

He wished he could.

"I will," Carys promised. "And when Mommy comes home here, hug her lots from me and tell her saranghaeyo so she knows I love her lots and crowds."

"I will, darling," Anders promised, blinking hard so he wouldn't cry. "I promise, it'll be the very first thing I say to her."

Not that he had any idea when or if he'd see Kathy next, but that wasn't a thought to share.

Clint and Kitty had more kids than usual to say goodbye to, and it wasn't like this part of the weekend was great to begin with.

"This is the worst part," Kitty sighed as they got to the portal.

"It's okay. I'll be back," Lexi said. She knew how this worked by now.

"And who knows, maybe this time next year, we'll have one of you of our own."

Or Kitty would kill him for suggesting it, one or the other.

"Oh, that's a Conversation," Kitty warned. One that had been rolling around in her brain already this weekend, but still.

"Thanks for this weekend," Chrissie said sincerely when it was her turn.

"You know I'm going to just keep worrying about you, right?" That's what happened when your alternate universe daughter came from the timeline your bff had come back to try and prevent.

"You better be. Or I'm going to have to come out there and kick everybody's ass," Kitty said, pulling her into a hug for too long. "Is this where you say I'm embarrassing you or something?"

"Do we have to leave?" Lila asked, clinging to Clint's leg.

Cooper rolled his eyes and smiled a little at Kitty, even though he was kind of hiding behind Clint too. "It was nice to meet you."

"It was nice to meet you, too," Kitty smiled back. "Hopefully this wasn't too weird for you."

"Make sure you tell your mom this was not my fault at all," Clint said. "If she decides to blame me, I mean."

Zaq headed back for the portal a little reluctantly. "I like it here better," he said.

"I do, too," Anakin said with a small smile. "It's why I stayed. In a couple of years, you'll be old enough to come for school."

"Where you will hopefully not cause too much trouble," Obi-Wan said optimistically, stepping up beside Anakin.

"Because we're exemplary examples of not causing trouble," Anakin muttered, smiling.

"Well, it's been...an experience," Mara said, glancing at Jarik out of the corner of her eye.
