Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet, Friday afternoon, The Park
The weather in the park was cool, crisp and pleasant. Not too hot and not too cold. If Goldilocks was attending the school she would have called it "just right." The traditional decorated tent had all been set up, complete with various tables, an expansive buffet which included a grill and barbecued items, and the all important shadowy corners.
And a moderate amount of glitter here and there.
There was also a very shiny banner that read:
Welcome parents and friends. Watch out for the glitter. That stuff gets everywhere.

Registration
Or your archenemy. Those tend to show up too.
Please check your weapons at the door.
Re: Registration
The only reason she bothered slapping on the nametag was because it was her name, and she had only claimed it two years ago. She was not about to give it up merely because she was annoyed.
Re: Registration
But she soldiered on because Tony would totally owe her for this terrible sacrifice.
Re: Registration
He stood through the park, breathing steadily and searching for Mara. She was going to be thrilled the Emperor had sent someone to check up on her.
After a few moments of glancing around, him helmet tilted toward the school in slight confusion. There were presences there that he hadn't felt in some time...
Re: Registration
What with him being only about half the height of an eleven year old.
What he lacked in height, he made up for in legs -- six of them, to be precise. Each ending in a stump currently squashed into an orange. The fruit. You know, like he was using them as shoes.
It turned out they really were good for that sort of thing.
Lucy didn't even bother looking at him as she sighed. She was too busy looking for her daughter. "I'll tell you when I see her, J.Lo."
"You had best," said J.Lo. It'd been a long few months without Tip around as a buffer between them. "Is my named tag placed correctly?"
Lucy looked down. The name tag had a smiley face and a number five on it. "That's not how you spell it."
"I knows this. It is an insider joke. Tip will like it."
"But no one else will know what to call you."
"I am not being here to see anyone else."
Lucy sighed and went back to looking for her daughter.
Re: Registration
Hopefully this visit would be just as pleasant as the last.
Re: Registration
Now to see what kind of snacks there were!
Re: Registration
With Ada, it was 50/50 when faced with dealing with something she didn't want to do.

RE: Registration
She might ordinarily be startled by the appearance of some of the guests, but she was too busy with her phone call to notice much as she paced in a large circle near the registration table.
"Well, did you get the reports? No - did I ask you if your dog died? Is that what you think I was interested in? I don't know how you expect to keep a dog alive when you are THIS CLOSE to getting fired today, you stupid, irresponsible, lazy c--
So, Monica was here.
RE: Registration
It was easy, as she was generally unapproachable.
Food & Drink
You might even find a Stuco member struggling to supply said grilled items.
Re: Food & Drink
Sure, Weasel was here officially to see Wade or whatever. But you know what? He thought Wade'd understand if he spent his first fifteen minutes attacking the buffet and cramming free food into his backpack.
He'd get around to the whole name tag thing. Sometime. Maybe.
... You know, maybe life would be easier if nobody would be able to identify him after he left. Yeah.

If anyone had anything to say about the rail-thin girl loading empanadas into a shopping bag, this would be the time.
Re: Food & Drink
"Honeydew!" He cried as if greeting an old friend, then stocked up his plate. "There's nothing a melon can do that you can't."
Honeydew got so much hate. He tried to counter that with positive reinforcement.
Re: Food & Drink
Look, he wouldn't be Sparkle if he wasn't trying to pinch something that wouldn't particularly be missed anyway. And really, was anybody going to be too upset if a few cookies disappeared into the dark reaches of his bag? Honestly?
He didn't think so.

Mingle!
Re: Mingle!
Mingling, maybe not so much. More watching, and judging everyone by their stance.

And okay, fine. Maybe he'd missed Mira. They didn't cross paths enough these days. Didn't mean he wasn't going to sit down somewhere and watch for them instead of seeking them out, though.
Which he was doing. Sitting, and watching.
Re: Mingle!
Occasionally she would smile to herself, as if reacting to some kind of inner dialogue. She certainly didn't appear to be looking for anybody in particular, at least, not at the moment. Though she'd make a point of looking for Steven later. She'd have to. He wasn't her Steven, but then again, every Steven was her Steven, in a way.
Look, it made sense if you had future vision.

Re: Mingle!
Tip had said that this school had other aliens, but everyone here seemed to be very tall and human shaped to J.Lo. It was making it hard to look for the one tall and human shaped person he actually wanted to find.
Lucy trailed behind him, also looking around for Tip, but mostly keeping an eye out to make sure he didn't try to eat any of the decorations.

Possibly making terribly jokes about having his only good eye on people. It was his thing, don't take that from him.
