Groovy Tunes, Sunday Night

Jono's brow was creased as he surveyed the damage to his music shop, arms crossed in front of himself, wishing for all the world that the streets of town were at least wide enough to get a truck in here or something. The damage around town was nothing to sneeze at all over, of course, but on the other hand, the basking shark that had crashed down on top of his shop, taking out half the (thankfully unoccupied) upstairs apartment and a good chunk of his storefront with it, had been fully grown.

Fully grown when it came to basking sharks meant that Jono had about 30 feet of fish to figure out how to get out of here before it went off.

And that was why he decided he'd apologize to the neighbours if anybody took exception to him running a chainsaw in the dead of night. He didn't have super strength, and didn't know anybody offhand who might, and so he was going to have to resort to slightly more crude means to be rid of the dead animal.

//Gonna smell like fish for months...//

He had to complain about the stupid things while he could. It was a distraction from the fact that he couldn't get inside to see what sort of damage had been done to his stock until the shark was out of the way.

[OOC: Not QUITE how the chainsaw thing was meant to go down, but Jono lives outside the box. Open!]

Hannibal stood to one side until Jono took a break, then came over to put a hand on his back. "We do still have your collar. Would it help if I brought a rope up there to lever it off? Or you could re-engineer it to lift things again."

"It's worth a try, if it might make this go faster." It wasn't as though it could get very much worse.

He rubbed Jono's back. "I'll return shortly."

Hannibal nodded, headed off, and came back a few minutes later with the collar and the tool kit. "I'll cut if you like, while you work on this."

He was prepared to be a good husband and help however he could.

Hannibal nodded and accepted the chainsaw, checking it and making sure Jono was well out of the way before he started it back up.

Hannibal, meanwhile, cut off more of those large steaks, trying to avoid any portions that would cause the thing to unbalance or collapse just yet.

Hannibal snorted. "I'll do without the dragons, thank you." He set down the chainsaw and put on the collar instead. Then stopped to hug Jono briefly. "Let's see what we can do."

Hannibal nodded and rose up fairly easily, taking a moment to assess the shark from every angle. Then he - carefully - landed on the roof. "If we move it from here over that direction," he gestured, "I think it will do the least further damage. But we'll have to watch the fin."

Hannibal looked around. Fortunately, Jono was skinny. "I think I can make you enough of a hole. One moment."

He reached out, found the right frequency to get a simple beam of hard light, and poked carefully at the crushed area he'd spotted, crumbling little bits away. He had a few false starts with losing the beam, but by the time he had a large enough hole, he had a decent handle on it.

"I know," Hannibal said. "I do apologize." He flew back down to the street and wrapped his arms around Jono. "But you can get inside now. Just be careful once you are."

Even if nothing was likely to kill Jono, it likely wouldn't be pleasant to fall through the floor or get a wall dropped upon him.

"It would make a lot of this easier," Hannibal said. He flew up to the roof and nodded at the hole he'd made for Jono. "I'll wait on the street."

That sofa carried odd and fond memories, Hannibal thought back at him, amused. He took a moment and managed to get a bit of light wrapped around the shark, just holding it in place. And I have braced the shark.
