Caritas- Tuesday

The zombies were back to making noise, and finally, worried that her poor daughter was going to end up thinking any of this was normal and okay, she'd gone ahead and gotten headphones to hook up to her phone and put directly on her stomach.

Sure it looked weird. But it was for the greater good.

Even if she still had to listen to whatever this was.

[Open! I'm both busy today and desperately need distractions.]

"Yeah, well," said Rosa, shaking her head, "hopefully I can get the hell out of here before it gets back to that again."

"This helps," said Rosa, lifting her beer and then promptly downing the remainder of it in a few long gulps. And, honestly, just having someone like Kitty to talk to about it helped even more than the beer, though she wasn't about to say that part. She'd been emotional enough already today, by her standards.

Although...Kitty was a helper, you didn't even know her that well to glean that much about her, and Rosa actually liked her. She was quite literally the only person in the bar right then that she did like, and she included herself in that.

She set the empty bottle down hard in front of her. "Another one'll help, too," she said, looking thoughtful. She shifted, pulling her badge off her belt, and held it up for Kitty when she came back with the second drink.

"You know what this is?" she asked.

"Yeah," Rosa snorted, because that was fair; it wasn't like she was usually one to talk in metaphors, "it's a badge. But this," she held it a little firmer, "is also the only thing I've actually stuck with my entire life. The only thing I haven't given up on or intentionally sabotaged."

She turned the badge around to frown at it.

"Pretty stupid, huh?"
