The beach, Saturday afternoon/evening
So today was the first official meeting of the Drunk and Bored club. Miguel had brought a few bottles of brandy and two of rum, since he had no idea what Fjord liked to drink. Also a twelve-pack of cider that had looked good. Hey, it wasn't like he had a lot of other things to spend his money on these days.
There were also plenty of leftover waffles from the diner, so they had some food to go along with all the alcohol.
When he got there, there was a pile of wood that looked about ready for a fire, so he checked it over, added a little of the brandy, and set it alight.
Hm. Should he throw rocks while he waited, or just sit here and watch the waves?
[Expecting one, but open beach, and club meeting open to anyone who wants to join!]

Cheap beer. In... metal containers of some sort.
"Miguel," he said, fairly affably, as he spotted the other man on the beach. "Please, tell me I did this right?"
He held up the six-pack.
It claimed to be beer. Don't ask him how to get to the contents.

He took the beer, pulled the tab on a can, and handed it back, then pulled the top off a bottle of cider. "Cheers."
no subject
He really needed to figure out what the hell people did for fun around here. Or for training? Or in general. Hell.

"Confusing," Fjord chuckled, shaking his head. "Beginning to realize just how generous people are. One person gave me a... phone. Another is paying for my stay in the hotel until I can make my own way. It's all a little overwhelming."

Not really caring what route they took, Rosa let Arlo 2 sort of lead the way, which may have gone to her benefit. Had the dog wittingly brought her to the beach knowing, somehow, that there was alcohol there? Probably not, but one did have to wonder...
A few people out, and, as she got closer, Rosa realized she could vaguely recognize them, cocked a chin up, and tightened the leash a little so Arlo 2 didn't go leaping herself into the fire like the dummy she was.
"What is this?" she asked. "I'm not interrupting a date or anything, am I?"

Well, it's not like it was ever made official or anything.
"Right now, I only fit half the criteria," she added, with not exactly a subtle glance over to the things that might resolve such a conflict before looking down at her dog, who was definitely going to go sniff at Miguel's feet.

Alright, sure. He gave both a shrug and a nod toward the alcohol, sort of an invitation, and then added, "The beer's shit. I'd avoid it."
no subject
He was right, though, it was shit, but she was still drinking it. Free beer, right? And it wasn't rum.
no subject
He was fine with rum, as it happened.

"That's a decision I'm going to regret tomorrow," Rosa stated, then took to chugging down about half the can, pulling a face afterwards that was exactly what you'd expect from chugging half a can of Coors.
Why? Why not? Like ripping off a Band-Aid, get it done and over with quick as you could.
"That's a decision," she added, frowning into the can, "I'm going to regret in five minutes."

"So, is this a party?"
She said it in a tone that could be interpreted as irony of any kind, in case this was a private event of some kind.

"Any other requirements other than being drunk or bored?"
no subject
He shrugged. "Otherwise, pull up a patch of sand."
no subject
"Any particular reason for this, other than being bored?"

No spit-take, but definitely a double-take to make sure she wasn't just seeing things.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
no subject
"What are you doing here?"
She wasn't actually that surprised, 'drunk and bored' did seem to fit Rosa too.
no subject
Unfortunately.
"And you're supposed to be gone."
Even with the obvious benefits of it having been much quieter around here (although perhaps quieter wasn't all it was cracked up to be), Rosa had thought that Seivarden had actually managed to escape this garbage dump place. But apparently not.
Serves her right for being optimistic about something for a change. She should have know better; nothing good ever happened to anyone...

"Not much of a party. More a... gathering of like-minded individuals looking to improve the ass-end of an otherwise unremarkable week."
Said the man who had been kidnapped by an island exactly a week ago.
no subject
"I'd say I've had a remarkable week, but not in a good way, and more like a month."
no subject
"Defer to Miguel's judgment, then," he decided. "He's the one who provided most of the alcohol. I'm just here to drink it."
