Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet! Friday Afternoon at the Park [09/28].
As one might have suspected, the weather that afternoon was incredibly cooperative and pleasant, just the right balance of nearly everything. Funny how that always seemed to work out. And wasn't that fine weather just a perfect companion for all the decorations and tables set up around the park in anticipation of the weekend's guests, as well as for the impressive spread of food offered for those wanting a bit of a nibble.
There was, of course, glitter, but some might note that it was a bit more tastefully restrained this year.
A bit.
Stretched over the entrance to the park was a large, bold banner, leaving no question as to what all this marvelous preparation was for:

Re: Registration - PW 2018
"Hey, it's okay, nobody's hurt," Ben soothed. "And, who knows, this might be a bit of luck! Cause, yeah, we're looking for someone, maybe you know her? Uma? Long teal braids, pretty, leather, kinda a whole nautical vibe?"
The Fairy Godmother wrinkled her nose. "Rude. Looks like she was dragged face down across the ocean floor? Possibly holding various people of authority hostage or brainwashing them?"
Re: Registration - PW 2018
"Uma?" he said, scratching his head. "I think I know who you're talking about, yeah. We have a couple classes together." Not exactly the truth, but not exactly a lie either.
Re: Registration - PW 2018
"I told you, she's smart," Ben said. "Taught me a thing or two."
"When you were tied to the main mast in exchange for my wand, or later, when she slipped you a love potion?" Fairy Godmother turned and pinned Bobby with a sharp glare. "Where can we find her? We have some urgent business with her."
Re: Registration - PW 2018
"She's probably in detention, up at the school," Bobby blatantly lied.
Re: Registration - PW 2018
Ben's face fell a little in disappointment. "Oh," he said softly. "Is she there often?"
Re: Registration - PW 2018
"Not, um. A lot." He hedged. "But sometimes she can't help but... speak her mind, you know? Not all the teachers like that." Really, only the second part of that was a lie; Fandom's teachers in general leaned towards the type who encouraged students to challenge them.
Re: Registration - PW 2018
Uma had been a walking talking lesson in privilege for Ben.
Re: Registration - PW 2018
"Absolutely!" Bobby nodded. "Uhh. From what I've seen in class, I mean."
Re: Registration - PW 2018
"Still, it doesn't sound like this time away is doing her any good," Fairy Godmother said crossly. "So there goes that hopeful theory of yours. I say what we do what we came to do and be done with it. With any luck, we'll be back in Auradon by tomorrow morning."
"But we haven't even seen her yet!" Ben protested. "We can't judge until we've had a chance to talk to her."
"Technically, we don't have to judge," Fairy Godmother sniffed. "She was found guilty in absentia."
