Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet! Friday Afternoon at the Park [09/28].

As one might have suspected, the weather that afternoon was incredibly cooperative and pleasant, just the right balance of nearly everything. Funny how that always seemed to work out. And wasn't that fine weather just a perfect companion for all the decorations and tables set up around the park in anticipation of the weekend's guests, as well as for the impressive spread of food offered for those wanting a bit of a nibble.

There was, of course, glitter, but some might note that it was a bit more tastefully restrained this year.

A bit.

Stretched over the entrance to the park was a large, bold banner, leaving no question as to what all this marvelous preparation was for:

The last thing Sidon would have expected would be for Paris to introduce him to one of her guests, but it was most certainly a pleasant surprise. Though the ravishing part did stop him a moment to send Paris a bit of a confused look.

No matter! He moved from it rather quickly, flashing his most charming grin and bowing slightly, hand to his heart.

"How absolutely marvelous!" he said. "It is truly a pleasure to meet you, Paris's nanny, what a splendid honor! I trust you have found the island welcoming and accommodating thus far?"

"Sim," Nanny said, nodding. "//They have delicious food that I didn't have to help make.//"

Sidon was just about to launch into a response when he realized that he didn't understand a word of what Paris's nanny had said. He paused a moment, mouth still slightly open before he offered a "Beg your pardon?"

With an uncertain, questioning glance toward Paris.

"She only speaks Portuguese," Paris explains, "but she understands English just fine."

"Ah!" Sidon nodded, smiling again. "So, I see! Well, then, I am afraid you have me at a disadvantage, ma'am! My lack of familiarity with your language will make me quite dependant upon Paris to translate, though I assure you, such a small hurdle would never diminish the please that is making your wonderful aquatintce!"

Nanny smiled back and murmured to Paris, who dutifully translated. "She thinks you are quite handsome and wonders why I'm so mean about you which I am not."
