Caritas, Tuesday Evening
Help help I've been kidnapped by Tino again.
Kanan was standing behind the bar and texting today. Once again he'd been accosted by the bartender and steered toward the other side of the counter, and once again he'd mostly just decided to roll with it. And here he'd really only just wanted an orange juice and some company, especially since he still smelled faintly of burned pepperment after an attempt at a lightsaber training session earlier today that he was not talking about.
... Of course, there was no hard and fast rule saying that he couldn't help himself to the orange juice anyway. You know. Between texts to whoever would answer them.
He keeps this up, I'm going to move in back here.
For easy access to the mixers, he just might, too.
[OOC: Kanan's temporary hostile takeover of Caritas continues! Open!]

So she did show up, leaning against the bar as she nodded at Kanan. "Evening. A beer, please."
no subject
She didn't strike him as the most discerning of drinkers, but if Caritas had the selection, he might as well give the option.
no subject
"So you're still here?"

And Kanan wasn't going to comment on that state of unease unless she brought it to his attention. He just made a reach for a glass, shrugged, and topped it up for her.
"Apparently so," he agreed. "Tino can be a very convincing man when he gets it in his head that he needs backup for something."
In fairness, Tuesdays were apparently the busiest night of the week.

Nah, so far it's been pretty quiet. The biggest drama so far came when I told Tino to make himself useful and cut some lemons.
No knives, and all.

You behind the bar tonight?
She knew it was a longshot, but if Kitty was back, she would absolutely make it in....and only under those circumstances. Well. Maybe not only, but if was going to wind up being just her, Temporary Bartender, Shitty Bartender, and Hot Leaf Water, that was going to be a hard pass.

Kanan dared to dream. He had no idea how these things worked, here.

Although Rosa realized she probably should try to stop by and see how Kitty was doing sometime soon here; the balance between missing her company and ew baby had finally started tilting in favor of the former that she might be able to tolerate the latter.
And, since she wouldn't want anyone thinking she was only texting Kanan for a status update, she added:
Thought you'd enjoy this
Followed by a video of Ralph yesterday, standing on his desk, making another loud 'the floor is eggnog' proclamation before trying to move from the desk to a rolling chair, only to have that rolling chair slip out underneath him, resulting in a hard land on the floor and him really committing to the game by flailing around and sputtering like he was drowning.
Hey, Kanan opened the door on a potential outlet for Rosa to unload on how ridiculous her coworkers were, and she was going to take it when she could.

Cancel Christmas. With a gift like this, there's no point going on.
It was beautiful. He was only sorry it wasn't a holo so he could watch this nonsense from every possible angle.
no subject
Rosa was all for canceling Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, whatever, if it would mean not waking up and worrying about what stupid holly-jolly holiday bullshit awaited her that day.
But she'd probably be all for canceling it even without Fandom Weirdness, too.

Well, duh, obviously Summer was going to come in anyway, because she was kind of bored and it was literally across the street for her, and if BDG was bored-texing, then she clearly needed to come to his rescue, but it never hurt to ask first, right?
no subject
It'd be coming out of his own pocket since he didn't want to screw over Kitty, granted.
... Unless she just ordered the Summer.
no subject
Summer's response was just a long string of thumbs-up emojis interspersed with a few laughing-crying ones and little martini glass ones.
And about fifteen minutes later, she came strolling in, grinning at him as she gave the bar a little smack with her hand. "So, what's good tonight, my man?"
no subject
Peel them, Tino. Just peel the damn lemons.
no subject
But then she grinned innocently as she asked, "Think he'd be upset if I asked for eggnog?"

What has this island done to my lightsaber?? Is it just mine, or yours, too?
no subject
Not just yours. My saber is going to stink like scorched peppermint for a month.

Now the question was whether he'd be nice and add that this was probably a temporary thing...
