Caritas- Tuesday

Kitty typically had bad luck with this sort of thing. There's been the time she'd been in the flooded store with a shark, and then there's been the sharkicane-related savage to Caritas that had ended in a renovation and a lot of lies to the insurance company. (You explain the shark.) So shes exkected the worst here yesterday until she found that at least the inside of the bar was totally dry.

As for getting in without letting water in... In case anyone still made it out here, there was a sign on the door.

She hadn't let Tino in. She'd seen him on a flamingo floatie in swim trunks waited until he went away.

"I'm just gonna hope this stays a hypothetical for a very long time," Kitty decided.

"Hey, I've survived being blown out an airlock once," Kanan quipped. "When I go, I highly doubt it'll be that to do it."

... Well, he wasn't wrong.

Kitty rubbed her forehead. "I'm going to bubble wrap you."

"You're not even the first person to make that threat," Kanan noted, smiling easily.

"Sound less proud," Kitty teased.

"Couldn't even if I tried," Kanan joked back.

Hey, he had to take his points of pride from somewhere, right?

"I know you're not trying to sass the bartender," Kitty said. "Especially after climbing through a window."

"I would never," Kanan agreed. "Especially not before I've ordered my drink."

He was many things, but that stupid? Nah.

"Smart. Your usual?" she checked.

[uncertain_dume]

"My usual," Kanan confirmed, smiling crookedly. "I'm going to need the sugar for when I climb back out the window again later."

Clearly.

"If you want to get out, you can always try to punch me. Then you can just swim home," she told him, starting the drink.

She was kidding, but it was also a valid option.

"I'm actually trying to avoid that," Kanan mused. "It's next to impossible to dry anything off with this much humidity out there, you know."

... And also, he didn't want to take a swing at Kitty. Even if he knew it wouldn't connect.

"I've accepted that we're all going to be gross until whatever happens next," she agreed, sliding the finished drink over.

"Considering the last place was a jungle, I'm pretty resigned to just being gross forever," Kanan admitted, reaching for his drink. "One way or another."

"In sure there are maybe some non-gross things on the hkrizon, if this is what we're doing."

"I guess we'll see, huh? When was this switch-over? Monday morning, Sunday night-ish?"

He hadn't really been around for it.

"Seems to be. Though I'm not sure yet if that's a weekly thing yet, or if it's going to change up on us," she said.

"Wouldn't mind all that much if this one changed up on us," Kanan admitted. "Not that I don't love worrying about water damage to my stuff."

Not that he really had much stuff.

"Tell me about it. I about had a panic attach before I saw this place," she admitted. "How is all your stuff holding up?"

"The apartment's mostly dry, the ship is above the water, and the warehouse is completely submerged, but there's just enough air in up top that the stuff I keep out of reach in the rafters is safe."

Which was good, since that included the swords that he'd gotten from Amaya.

"... The training swords and the safety mats, not so much."

Sigh.

"Sorry. At least when it comes to training stuff I'm sure this place will need to look into buying new ones in bulk, so I'm sure you can get those replaced."

They were quite the fighty island.

"Well, they're kind of for private lessons," Kanan mused, "but I'm sure Amaya will be happy for the business if the metal ones rust."

The bamboo shinai, he'd have to order from the mainland.

The mats...

He'd just have to be sad about the mats.

"Assuming all her own stuff is okay," Kitty said. "It feels mean to get surprised with this right after the weekend, too. Happy Monday, everything's wet."

"I didn't even get a weekend," Kanan muttered. "It was from Friday dinosaurs right on over to 'surprise, you're late for your radio shift and everything is waterlogged.'"

He knocked back a healthy mouthful of juice.

"Which means you missed my baby being older than a teenager."

She knew enough about AUs to not worry about going missing for a weekend, so she might've traded with him this time.
