That warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey had maybe sort of figured it out.

Last week had been has been helpful in getting in the right mindset to do maybe everything, and she was feeling more hopeful about her place in all of this than she had in a while. So she'd sat down on the floor to meditate before Anakin got here, trying to get back to that a little

It was easier without the woodchucks at the other end of the warehouse. Meditation usually involved less frowning, usually.

"I should have known that was coming," Rey said, screwing up her face.

Anakin smiled. "Learning is an endless process."

"That's not this week, though, is it?" she checked.

[sith_happened]

"Not this week," Anakin said. "I thought you might want to spar again."

[thatwaslucky]

"Yeah," Rey said, brightening and getting to her feet, and realizing she didn't ping in the last post oops. "I would."

"Training sabers again," Anakin said, "but I don't think that will last much longer."

[thatwaslucky]

"Wait, really?" Rey said, eyes wide. "I haven't fixed... that one yet."

Hers? His? Luke's? Whatever.

"I can give you the basics on repair, but each Jedi must be in charge of their own lightsaber," Anakin said. "Even if it's kind of mine."

So weird.

"The general repair I can do. It's the crystal," she said.

And paused, considering something she'd seen in one of the books.

"I can try a few things."

"Be careful," Anakin cautioned. "A cracked crystal can lead to extremely tragic results."

"Lost limbs?" Rey guessed. She didn't know what exactly caused the explosion when the lightsaber broke, but she could make guesses.

"Exactly," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I will be exceedingly careful," she promised.

[sith_happened]

"And then some," Anakin said, nodding. "Trust me. Limb loss is no fun."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'd really rather avoid it," she said, sympathetic. "I'm used to unstable things."

"I'm fascinated to see how this works for you," Anakin admitted. "The Kyber crystal attunes with the Jedi--me first, when I made it. I don't know if Luke did anything other than wield it."

"I have no idea. I don't think he had it that long, I'm not sure he knew how to modify it at all," Rey said with a shrug. "I should ask Leia. She'd probably know more."

Anakin nodded. "I'm debating whether it would be better for your repairs if I was nearby or nowhere close at all in case the crystal gets confused."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'd like to try it myself," she said slowly. "If it called to me, I don't think it would hurt me."

Anakin nodded again. "I don't think it would intend to."

[thatwaslucky]

"And I have to read up on it anyway."

You know, from those books she loved so much.

"Take your time," Anakin said. "There's no rush."

"And until then, there's training sabers."
