It had been a normal, peaceful morning that was so early it was practically the night before still. If one wanted to be specific. Or if they were still constrained by the tyrant of time.

Then a piercing noise sounded throughout the building as a fire alarm went off.

Because why get a good night's sleep when you could be dragged out of bed to wait on the tiny, under-worked Fandom Fire Department to come make sure everything was fine?

"I honestly wish you luck," Rey told him. "I think I'll be hearing the alarm in my head even when it's gone."

"Let's hope not," he said. "That would drive a person mad."

"Yeah," she said, frowning. "I'll just get on with the day and try to forget about it. After coffee."

"Mmm coffee," he murmured. "I could use some."

"I wonder when the Perk opens."

You knew it was early when you said that.

"It should be open twenty-four hours a day," Silver said. "Exactly for situations like this."

"They should. There are reasons enough for people to need coffee all night," Rey agreed, and pulled her phone out of her bag.

"Not open till six."

Silver whined, a sound that most definitely should not ever come out of a fearsome pirate king. "I hate this."

Rey actually kind of smiled at that.

"At least you're in good company on that."

"I'm liable to hit anybody walking around like this is a good thing," Silver said. "Or have Danny arrest them."

"Hit them and then arrest them," Rey considered.

Silver nodded solemnly. "The best of both worlds, I like it."
