Mauvaise Chance Apartments - Early, Early, God Awful Early Saturday Morning
It had been a normal, peaceful morning that was so early it was practically the night before still. If one wanted to be specific. Or if they were still constrained by the tyrant of time.
Then a piercing noise sounded throughout the building as a fire alarm went off.
Because why get a good night's sleep when you could be dragged out of bed to wait on the tiny, under-worked Fandom Fire Department to come make sure everything was fine?
[Open! Make those threads messy!]

Rey was out here with her hair down for once, dressed in a tank top and pants, which probably didn't look out of the ordinary aside from the boots she'd shoved on before leaving. She'd also grabbed her satchel on the way out, because it had felt weird to leave the lightsaber behind when an alarm was going off and also because she didn't want to get locked out of her apartment.
"Can they just turn the alarm off?"

And while, yes, he could sleep through a lot of things and rarely required an actual bed, this seemed like it would be a challenge to sleep through, even for him.

Five minutes later, she was standing outside in a shirt and her duckie pyjama pants, Service Weapon tucked into her pocket. So much for hiding that.

But Jesse was a new person that she hadn't met, and now they got to stand outside at night, so now she was getting that awkward little smile that said 'hi this is stupid.'

It was an interesting weapon, though, and she was an interminably inquisitive person, so she did raise an eyebrow at it as she passed by.

He was now sitting up against a tree, his crutch placed over his lap, and looked like he was attempting to fall asleep again as if that were actually possible right now.

Or Steve would go back in and shoot the alarm. He was a problem solver that way.

It was convenience-store coffee from the Kwik Stop, so nothing near as good as the Perk could make, but. It was coffee!
"Rey sent me," Liam offered as explanation, holding out the cup.

Now that it looked like there was no actual fire, he'd spent a few seconds considering just sneaking back in. But he kind of figured that risked drawing too much unnecessary attention.
So he was just going to keep to the sidelines and wait this thing out.

Liam had also gone two months without someone around to coax him into attempting to sleep like a normal person, so he'd fallen back into old habits and was in fact not even asleep in his own apartment but out for a walk when he noticed the group of people milling about the building, alarm still shrieking.
"Well," he observed drily. "At least you know the alarm works." You know, in case there was ever a reason for that alarm to go off that wasn't just 'wake everyone up at a terribly inconvenient hour'.

"This is bullshit," she grumbled. "Like, we aren't even being attacked by bandits or anything and you wake us up for this?"
She had her staff in hand, to no one's surprise, because SERIOUSLY MIDNIGHT ATTACKS ON YOUR SLEEPING PARTY WERE THE ONLY VALID REASON TO BE ABRUPTLY WOKEN LIKE THIS.

He was keep an eye on the horizon, though. If got too late, he'd head over to the bar to not burst into flame.

Yasha had been asleep, too, but last night had been one of the nights where sleeping inside was too difficult for her and she'd ended up wandering over to the park and dozing off under a tree there instead, so all the commotion had startled her awake.
Which was why, when she approached, her eyes were solid black and a massive pair of skeletal, bat-like wings was spread out behind her. (Though that sort of thing tended to blend into the darkness if you weren't looking straight on, or not awake enough to notice, or something like that.)
"What is going on?"
