It had been a normal, peaceful morning that was so early it was practically the night before still. If one wanted to be specific. Or if they were still constrained by the tyrant of time.

Then a piercing noise sounded throughout the building as a fire alarm went off.

Because why get a good night's sleep when you could be dragged out of bed to wait on the tiny, under-worked Fandom Fire Department to come make sure everything was fine?

“Speaking of clothing, you being in the Navy wasn’t in your file,” he commented. Super innocently.

Danny glanced down. "Nah, I think this is Steve's."

Was Steve somewhere totally modded in a Newark PD shirt? Maybe.

"... I don't think I've ever borrowed a coworker's shirt to sleep in," Liam observed.

Not strictly true; most of his early wardrobe had in fact been provided from Augur's closet. But that was different! He'd been, like, a day old!

But other than that the only coworker he'd ever had significant amounts of contact with had been his father and just... ew. Ew.

(On the other hand, Liam had been known to occasionally pilfer one or two of Dominic's shirts. And Verity- well, she had two wardrobes to borrow sleep shirts from, and took full advantage of that.)

Danny did. Canonically he did this.

"Laundry gets mixed," Danny said dismissively.

"Hmm."

Danny rolled his eyes because he wasn't going to acknowledge it was weird. Because then you had to think about it. "Can we agree this doesn't need a report?"

“The shirt stealing?” Liam asked innocently. “That’d only go on report if the other party considered it a theft.”

"The fire alarm," Danny said louder. He wasn't giving up the shirt, Liam.

"Well," Liam considered. "So long as it was a test and not someone pulling it to see what would happen, I agree. No report needed."

"If someone out here pulled that alarm, I'm gonna arrest them." He'd gladly write that report.

“As well you should,” Liam agreed.

Danny nodded and then yawned widely. "How are you so awake?"

If this was more weird, military bullshit, he was gonna be so mad.

Nah, it was weird alien bullshit, though Liam was perfectly content to let Danny believe it was the former.

A shrug. “I don’t sleep much.”
