It had been a normal, peaceful morning that was so early it was practically the night before still. If one wanted to be specific. Or if they were still constrained by the tyrant of time.

Then a piercing noise sounded throughout the building as a fire alarm went off.

Because why get a good night's sleep when you could be dragged out of bed to wait on the tiny, under-worked Fandom Fire Department to come make sure everything was fine?

Liam, at least, had the grace to look somewhat sheepish.

"Well, for what it's worth, you have my permission to sleep in as late as you'd like after all this is done with," he said solemnly.

"Which would be very helpful-" It would not! "-if I knew I wasn't already going to be up all day now on two hours' sleep."

"Would a coffee help?" Liam offered.

It would not be Perk coffee. It would be Kwik Stop coffee, because that was what was open right now.

"Yes," she said, actually grateful. "And one for John."

Because they were bitching about coffee in another thread.

"John?" he questioned, already casting an eye about the gathered crowd. He knew most of the people here, but there were a couple unfamiliar faces.

"Against the tree there," she said, nodding to where Silver was sitting.

She wasn't going to specifically point out the crutch unless she needed to.

“I can do that,” Liam promised. “Be right back.” And indeed, a few minutes later he was back with a tray of coffees, one of which he handed over to Rey. “Hopefully this’ll help soften the blow of being awake right now.”

"Thank you," she said, taking it gratefully. "You're forgiven."

For daring to be awake.

“I appreciate that,” Liam grinned back at her. Because really, he hadn’t been trying to be obnoxious about being awake on purpose.
