Planning a party of this size was both fun (since she'd never done it before) and rather stressful (because what if no one came? What if no one liked it? What if--?) but Elli was…

Happy with how it all turned out. There was still the chance no one besides Sabine and Wayne would show but she'd done her best, putting up posters about the party oh so handwavily and even with the mess of paintball, she hoped some of them had actually been read and noticed.

As it was, she had buckets of carefully woven flowers—some in crowns, some longer, in necklaces—for people to help themselves to, should they care to (Elli wore a crown of flowers that she couldn't name in baby blue and white) beach umbrellas set out at various spots, and tons of blankets (and a few folding chairs should anyone prefer that) and that was…

That was about it, aside from strategically placed lanterns that they could turn off easily when it came time for the fireworks.

Now she just had to hope everything went well. The fireworks were taken care of by Sabine and while Elli had provided a multitude of snack options, both healthy and unhealthy, and drinks, the grill was under Wayne's control so she didn't have to worry about that…

And nothing else was left but to get the party started!

They're on a sandy part of it, with a perfect view of the ocean, and who says you can't arrive and mingle and lounge all at the same time anyway?

Okay, so if there's an open invitation to a party, Eleanor is definitely going to show up.

Actually even if she wasn't invited she would probably show up. If she was actually told not to come to a party she'd probably find a way in just to spite the person who told her not to come.

Regardless, Eleanor was on sprawled out on the sand in her favorite beachwear and just enjoying the fact she survived her first week of classes.

Sabine wasn't so much lounging. She'd had setup to do and all. But that didn't mean she couldn't hang around at least a little before the show, right?

A Friday night party was just the sort of thing Troy would expect after the first week of school so he was all for it, taking a few moments to just hang back and be cool before deciding to go feel out a few interactions.

Alexis was here and looking very cute in a little black dress, and invited a boy. So she was going to look pretty until he got here, thank you very much.

Julius was still kind of cautiously feeling his way back into school after missing the entire summer as a lizard and also worrying about his mother potentially winging in to come eat him (no, he still hadn't checked about the day like Jules had suggested in that he was slightly a coward and what if they had forgotten about him and then he called to remind them?!?!!?). But Alexis had invited him to the party and he was happy to see people and so...here he was. In a hastily-aquired pair of swim trunks (did people go swimming at beach parties?) and one of the loose shirts he'd gotten from Alluka.

And a veggie platter. Because he didn't know how to party but guest-customs said you didn't show up empty-handed.

Astrid wasn't one to miss a Fandom party if she could help it, especially not one that Sabine was doing something for, as well as put together by her otherwise reserved little sibling. So she was both here for herself as well as for moral support, though likely to hang back and skirt the edges than anything else.

Maneuvering a crutch in sand wasn't what Jules would call easy, but then, neither were stairs, and at least she'd had the advantage of spending the last few weeks before returning to Fandom back home in Wolf Spring, which was a coastal town. So suffice it to say she managed to find her way to a beach chair, Camden flopping down on the sand next to her.

Wei Wuxian had spent the last couple of years living on a literal pile of bones and he was not going to pass up this chance to get back in the water. He stripped down to his undershirt and trousers and took off his boots and socks. It felt odd to be wearing only one layer in public, but the people around him were wearing much less. At least he had his arms and legs covered. He ran to the edge of the water and dove in.

Ulysses had entirely missed the posters for this party. In fact, he'd headed down to the beach tonight to just like... maybe sit on the sand and vape and stare moodily towards the water?

But sure, he'd take a party, now that he'd come across one.

First, though, he was going to take way too long trying to decide on a flower crown to pick. It needed to look right for the Insta, okay.

Well, it was pretty clear to Freya that she was officially trapped here for at least a little while longer, so perhaps she had best reconsider her approach to Fandom. A lot less time in the futile attempt to search the mainland for someone who clear would not be found there, and a stronger attempt to actually stay here and connect with the people already here. Maybe one of them had the key to finding Sir Fratley all along, but she'd been too busy looking elsewhere to notice...

And a party would always seem a good place to start.

Nell came by, dressed in her usual clothes, which were totally inappropriate for the beach. All the flowers were so beautiful that she had to stop and look at all of them for a few moments before she'd go find a place to sit and watch the ocean and the other people.

There's much to eat, ranging from chips and pretzels to veggie and fruit trays. Then Wayne's manning the grill for anyone who wants something more filling than snacks!

For drinks there's a variety of sparkling waters, sodas, and it certainly wasn't Elli who'd picked up the alcohol but there was that too. Mysteriously.

It was probably Wayne's fault.

After the first week of classes, Miles definitely needed a break and this was a perfect distraction. The food and the beach definitely took his anxiety levels a notch.

However right now his other distraction was the constant text from his Dad asking about his classes and if all his homework was done.

If only Miles could actually talk about his classes.

Wayne could certainly take the blame fer the Puppers and the Gus'n'Bru! And also the wide.variety of things waitin' to be grilled (yes, Eleanor, there was shrimps), though you'll likeleh have to sit through a gruff but brief lecture about the perfect way to grill a steak to get it.

Sabine had really only had a few days to work on this, so it wasn't as big a show as she would have liked. She'd also just so happened to have had some fireworks ready before the party was even suggested though, so.

But right on time, the sky lit up with a series of fireworks, with as many colors as Sabine could make. There were even a couple in the shape of gremlins. Did she sneak a starbird in there? Yes. But just one.
