Oktoberfest 2020 - The Park, All Day Saturday

The park was done up with a series of colorful tents to house every stall the festival could hope to host. The weather was a perfect fall crispness for all to get out and enjoy themselves with their lederhosen. Because you know you wanna try out those lederhosen, right?

If Kitty had to make a special trip to get her cute little Oktoberfest dress then dammit, she was going to wear the hell out of it today. While serving drinks that weren't beer because she figured the rest of the place had that covered.

A variety of modable stalls sold German and German-adjacent food to enjoy! Meat in tube form, schnitzel, walking tacos, raclette sandwiches...

Well, there weren't the delicious fair foods from back home, but a walking taco was something Magnus could always get down with. Mmm. Fritos.

He was gonna just be spending way too long in the food area.

After his shift at the station Diego grabbed some schnitzel and döner and found a place to sit. He'd sit through terrible music so long as good food was involved.

Astrid figured she could pull off dirndl pretty well, but anything more than the braided pigtails she put her hair into was about as far from betraying her heritage as she would allow. She was.going to get a drink, though, and a plate of food, which would be eagerly picked at in favour of watching the crowd and scribbling in her sketchbook.

Rey was still here today, so she figured she'd come down for a little while and see what this actually was.

Which mainly meant she had a seat and a sampling of food, and given that this was Fandom, she was glad that walking tacos weren't what they sounded like.

Liam had, technically, been to the 'real thing' in Munich, but he'd been working, accompanying Da'an as the North American Companion toured the fairgrounds with the European Companion. Actually getting to enjoy the festival himself hadn't been on the agenda.

So this was... nice. Sure, his stomach did a little flip at the smell of so much meat being cooked as he made his way over to the food stalls, but he could deal with that. He got himself some spaetzle with cheese and, of course, a pretzel, and found a table.

A friendly face! Not that any of the faces on the island were particularly un-friendly, if Stark were being honest with himself, but some were certainly friendlier than others.

Since the last thing Summer needed was to start tomorrow off with a hangover, she was going light on the beer, and had actually been spending most of her day at thenscrapyard doing last minute maintenance of the ship. But there was eventually a breaking point, when the smell of the fold finally made her stomach grumble, and she figured a little bit of a break couldn't hurt.

Having procured a drink, Stark headed for the food. The pretzels seemed like a good place to start, though everything else did smell good. But since the pretzel he purchased may have been bigger than Stark's head he decided he would hold off on other snacks for the moment.

Polka music and clog dancing were playing frequently with breaks for anyone brave enough to go up and give it a shot themselves to try out either of them.

As someone who desperately wanted to travel this world but was met with certain...complications when she made the attempts, Freya thought this was fascinating and wonderful and was eagerly exploring all aspects of it that she could.

But she kept coming around to the dancing, watching it with intent interest and even playing with the idea of joining in and giving it a try. And as much as she eschewed that aspect of her own culture, she felt a pull toward it, a little homesickness mixed in.

For now, she'd just watch and enjoy and appreciate the dances.

We'll see where she stood after a few more drinks in her, though.

Surprising no one, Breq was where the music was playing. This might not be something she would choose to listen to herself, but it was interesting enough, and she watched the dancing while sipping her Glühwein.
