Caritas; Wednesday [02/10].
You know what? Okay, sure, so Summer's apartment was literally stuffed with all kinds of suitcases and luggage and whatever that seemed to be super big on calling out her myriad of emotional baggage, and don't think she didn't see what you did there, luggage, real cute, really. But at least she could say that all of those bags were really cute to the point where she almost thought about wishing she could keep some of it if it weren't for the damning things splayed across all of them.
Thankfully, they stayed mostly out of the kitchen so she could still make her shots for tonight, although she did have to move around a few duffel bags with 'Constant Need for Validation' and 'Latches on to Every Modicum of Approval' of the way to for that.
But anyway, unless this was some sort of weird personal phenomenon, Summer was pretty sure there be at least a few luggage-related drives to drink tonight, so she was glad to throw herself into the work at the bar and just not think about it!
(Yeah, yeah, yeah. We see you there, 'Conflict Avoidance' with the cute contrasting stitching!)
Wednesday Jello Shot Specials!
Whiskey Sour
Key Lime Pie
Sweet Peach Sake
Rainbow Cake
Glow-in-the-Dark
Shrimp Cocktail
Spaghetti-O's
Swedish Salad
OH? WAS THAT A GIANT TRUNK WITH 'OVERCOMPENSATION IN A DESPERATE BID FOR LOVE AND APPROVAL' ON IT OVER THERE? SUMMER HADN'T NOTICED.
Caritas is open!

The Stage - 02/10.
The Bar - 02/10.
Oh, that was a whole 'nother subset of baggage? Interesting.
Re: The Bar - 02/10.
Seivarden groaned as the 'addictive behaviour' suitcase reappeared.
Re: The Bar - 02/10.
Look, the suitcase had a point, but some days just called for it around here.
Re: The Bar - 02/10.
"So," she said. "How are you doing?"
She did her best not to pay attention to that trunk. Did Summer really want approval that much?"
Look, there was a box with 'obliviousness' on.

Stark offered a sympathetic nod in Seivarden's direction (and her luggage's direction) from his own seat at the bar.

She also looked absolutely miserable as she set her various pieces of luggage down and took a seat at the bar. "Hey."
Re: The Bar - 02/10.
"You brought it all with you?"
Like, why would anyone carry all that shit around if they didn't have to?
Ohmygod, was that, like, a metaphor?
Oh, hey, s'up, adorable carry-all with 'family history of running away from problems' now seated on a stool like it was actually the 'family history of alcoholism' or something.
Re: The Bar - 02/10.
Might as well be real up-front about it. It was not a joyful Jello shot kind of day for Annie, and the baggage certainly didn't help.

Maybe those with similar bags should start a support group.
He didn't know Annie (or literally anyone else on the island) well enough to suggest it outright yet, so he just gave her a little smile and a nod.
And tried to pretend the self-inflicted loneliness satchel that appeared in his lap wasn't actually there.

The bag marked Avoidance hadn't followed him in to the bar, at least. Not yet, anyway. The trunk with the large number and the matched blue She Died/She Left bags were there though, lurking behind him. Almost as if they'd always been there and just not visible. Funny how that worked. He fully expected some of the others to appear as well.
"At least it isn't just me," he said as he approached the bar. "Though that's not better, really."
Re: The Bar - 02/10.
"Not really," she agreed, "but that's why we have booze, and that does make it better!"
Yeah, she was working in a bar tonight. The FAMILY HISTORY OF ALCOHOLISM case was not going anywhere tonight.

dragged kicking and screaming away fromdivested of his willful ignorance clutch purse burden, and was now entirely aware of the dead husband backpack on his back. Which he was just going to keep carrying. Look, he was a firefighter. He was used to heavy loads!"I'll take one of every shot," he said, slumping at the bar. "Well, maybe not the spaghetti-os one." A pause, and then he slapped the bar. "You know what? Including the spaghetti-os one."
Did a crutch labeled alcohol count as baggage?
Re: The Bar - 02/10.
"I feel a milestone is being reached right now," she said, as she started setting out the parade of shots, "but not necessarily a good one..."
The last one settled, she offered over a smile. "Hey, Trav. This place is super awesome sometimes, huh?"

Except something had happened to her that she hadn't felt... just about ever:
She needed a drink.
So she was lugging her Social anxiety and Trust issues backpacks into the bar. They would probably protect her from a recurrence of the stuff she really didn't want anyone to see, right?
"I need," she said, sinking into a seat, "something stronger than a beer right now."

Please don't mind the little beaded seeks authoritative approval purse on the bar next to his drinks.
