Caritas; Wednesday [03/03].

Summer didn't want to ask.

She really, really didn't want to ask, but ever since she came in that night, Tino had been acting very quiet and weird and introspective, like he was contemplating something very deep and mysterious, to the point where it was sort of affecting his work performance, and, despite the fact that she knew she would regret it, the curiousity managed to get the better of Summer, and she went ahead and opened that dangerous can of worms called 'asking Tino what was on his mind'.

"It's just that," he started, brow creasing with distress and worry, "what if cats and dogs had opposable thumbs??"

Summer just shook her head and went to go work at the other end of the bar, because, really, really, she only had herself to blame, she should have known better.

Wednesday Jello Shot Specials!
Moscow Mule
Peach Fizz
Lobster Salad

"Summer."

Seivarden gave her a look, but couldn't hold back a laugh.

"I'm sure he makes perfect meats on sticks, judging from what I've seen."

That one was way too easy too, and she was being ridiculous.

"I have no idea what you mean."

Seivarden downed the Moscow Mule.

"I'm going to leave him to teach that kind of cooking to Amaya, though. Or maybe that prince he works for."

"I hope so," Seivarden said, more serious. "At least I won't have to talk about things."

Then a quick change of topic, hopefully sudden enough to catch Summer unprepared: "But you never told me about that weekend."

"That was talking about things relating to feelings with Amaya," Seivarden pointed out. "I'm asking what happened. As a friend. Which means you don't have to tell me, but if you do, I'll listen."

Which meant she would try. She was still very much herself, even with the best of intentions.

"I do." She wasn't going to argue against that.

"I just meant... if something upset you, I do care. I, well, if you don't want to tell me, I'll just have another jello shot instead."

She smiled.

"No, another Mule one."

There were limits.

"They're not too bad," Seivarden said. "That's the Monday Special solved."

She raised the glass at Summer, then downed it. Putting the glass down, she said:

"Did I mention I had dinner with Hannibal Lecter?"

"And survived it," Seivarden said. It was a nice surprise. The dinner, I mean, not surviving the food. I hardly think restaurants would do well if their guests were poisoned."
