Summer had pretty much been hard at work on planning something (a few somethings!) ever since her class got out yesterday, all thanks to a text she had received, and she was in the zooooone, because this was just the sort of thing that gave Summer life and worked as a nice distraction from, you know, thinking too hard about stuff that were sure to send her spiraling into one of those fun little 'disappear for a few days to shoot asteroids' sort of moods.

Anyway, either way, she got to the bar supes early to start getting things set up, so that by the time they opened, the whole place was decked out in yellow and white streamers, large glittering golden stars hanging for the ceiling, balloons fucking everywhere, there was clearly a theme, and if anyone needed any help figuring out exactly what was going on, there was a large banner draped above the bar that might help:

Look, Annie was sort of obligated to get up and sing tonight, and she'd had just enough shots to want to be all performative without, you know, potentially hurting someone.

And while she was not invoking star, she was, indeed, cheesing it up with the other half of her super-name. And some belting.

She did the same thing on this chorus, this time raising both hands to send them -- and her eyes -- glowing bright on up again. (Though, like, it should be noted, her hands were angled towards the ceiling, and she was operating at, like, fifteen percent power, because she was respectful of your bar, Kitty, and of everyone's eyes!)

"Oh my God." Annie didn't really know what she'd expected, exactly, when she came into the bar tonight, but it wasn't this. She was straight-up clasping her hands to her mouth once she reached the bar, and she hadn't even seen the drink specials. "Summer, this is too much."

On top of a party, too?

Like, granted, Annie had been walking on air since yesterday (even if she'd also been sweltering for part of it) but she didn't really expect anyone else to be this happy for her.

Sometime during the evening when Annie wasn't being mobbed, Jessica would appear with two bourbons and place one in front of Annie.

(Annie would be getting the good bourbon. Not the paint stripper version Jessica drinks.)

She didn't look directly at Annie but gave her a shrug. "Guess I'll have to get used to calling you Starlight," she said as if that was a mild complaint but then gave her a smirk. "Congratulations. I know how important this is for you."

Instead of giving Annie drinks like other people might, Barry showed up with two bottles of water and a bottle of ibuprofen.

"Congratulations," he said with a smile. "And with all the alcohol people are probably going to give you, drink these and take the ibuprofen before you go to bed. If you're still hungover, come by the lab and I'll hook you up with a cure."

Diego was determined to be a part of all things celebrating Annie, both because he was proud and it also distracted him from his girlfriend moving to a whole different city. But mostly it was the pride thing. "Give me a Queen Maeve."

Because while everything Black Noir appealed to Diego, he was a secret Queen Maeve stan after watching her movies.

She still didn't know much about superheroes, but clearly it was important to Annie. And Summer.

Which was a different hello from her usual "Bourbon" but it was a greeting just the same.
