Caritas; Wednesday [06/23].

Before the rush of usuals trickled in for the night to keep Summer busy with slinging beers and jello shots, she was leaned over the counter a little on her phone, which wasn't that unusual, but whatever she was doing on the phone left her frowning a little.

"Moonlit Pour Garage?" she murmured. "Singing Escape Bar?" Her voice seemed to be getting more incredulous with each tap. "Rusty Brew Emporium??" She scoffed, but clicked again, shaking her head at the next result. "Ultimate bar name generator, my ass..."

Okay, though may Sly Monk wasn't terrible, but Merry Barman Hideout fully convinced her to put the phone away for now and get more focused on tonight's work, with maybe...one speculative glance at Tino to perhaps ask for his thoughts and opinions, but then realizing that some of his suggestions might be things she might not be able to ever recover from.

She had time to figure it out, anyway. Maybe she was just waiting for the perfect a-ha! moment to hit.

"Still?" Faye greeted Stark, reaching up to brush away a little bit of glitter from his shoulder.

He had absolutely gotten it worse than she had, this week. Even if Faye had actually fought a squirrel.

She wasn't, like, proud of that.

"They had a bucket," Stark said with a small sigh. "It may never all come off. I'll sparkle forever."

"A bucket seems excessive. But then all of it seems excessive," Faye said with a little roll of her eyes. "I fought a squirrel after my broadcast yesterday when it tried to glitter me."

Kind of during her broadcast, a bit.

"I hope you won. They started it."

Much the same way that Anakin had started things. Maybe this year was just going to be a series of feuds.

"It sticks underneath the leather," he said, rubbing at the strap on his neck.

"They did start it." No comment on whether she'd won. Squirrels were wily.

"Maybe I can help later," Faye offered casually -- it was no big deal, squirrels. "Because that sounds like it sucks." Probably itched? She just didn't want him getting a rash or something, okay.

"It's irritating," Stark agreed. "Help would be welcome."

He could just take his mask off for a moment and clean off the straps but where was the fun in that? Help would be much better.

"But you might end up glittered yourself." Again.

"You know, Stark, call it a hunch," Faye said with a little sigh, "but I think I'm probably going to end up getting glittered anyway."

If not by transference, then by virtue of the fact the fact that she'd offered. It was a glitter cycle.

"It does seem to keep happening."

For some reason.

"We may need to just accept our sparkly fates."

"Or start bribing them." You could tell Faye was getting kind of desperate, since she was actually considering this course of action rather than continuing to try to beat the hell out of the squirrels.

They were tenacious. And many.

"I hear they'll take rum in exchange for leaving us alone." Ish.

"Is there enough rum for that? There are so many of them. How often do they need to be bribed? Do you think it would work?"

If pressed, Stark might confess that he didn't mind the glitter all that much. It was for an excellent cause wasn't it? There was just so much of it.

"We could try."

"I don't think we should have to," Faye said plaintively, "since it's none of their furry little business anyway, but we can try. For a night. I have enough rum to get us started, at least."

Tonight, specifically. Because going home together again would send a real anti-glitter message to those squirrels, damn it!

It wasn't that Faye minded the glitter itself (though she did), so much as this was the rare scenario that made her feel vaguely...shy? Maybe even a touch self-conscious? She was already sort of fumbling around in the dark on this whole squishy feelings thing; these squirrels and knowing looks and all were starting to make her worry that she was primed to screw it all up spectacularly publicly. (Which, in turn, was why she was half-heartedly clinging to that denial, still.)

Yet another reason why she usually pretended she didn't have feelings! Can't screw up things you don't care about!

Yes, going home together and then bribing the squirrels to go away would surely do wonders to dissuade them from continuing their glittery behavior. What could go wrong?

"It isn't their business," Stark agreed. "And being left alone would be better. They just think everything is their business." And then they get weirdly invested, the furry little creepers. "We can try. I don't mind trying."

He also wouldn't mind less attention. All of the attention was a bit unnerving. It just didn't seem like the attention was likely to stop any time soon.
