In a rare turn of events for how these weekends usually went for the tiny hatchling prince of the Zora, Sidon was not immediately stymied by the complication of being too small to even reach the handle of a door! And with no such boundary to hold him back for hours upon hours upon hours of trying to reach a handle just to turn it and leave a room, he was free to run around the streets of Fandom with wild abandon, each bouncing step made with a little gasp of energy and excitement from all the exersion.

Not to mention his own eager attention paid to skittering lizards! Sidon's eyes went wide with excitement when he saw one and, grinning eagerly, he changed his course to go chasing after one as well, little arms pumping, trying to keep up, because a lizard was a very good find! You could make potions out of lizards! Or maybe pets! Or maybe it wasn't a lizard at all but a baby dragon! Obviously, he wouldn't know for sure until he caught it, and so that was what Sidon, the Zora Prince!, was determined to do!

Too bad the little lizard was much faster than the little legs could carry the small boy!

[[ *and just slaps a probable SP note on it just in case, but I meeaaaaan......I gotta at least try! ]]

Dwight had managed to keep up with the tiny reptile for a good bit of time, but it finally skittered into a space where he couldn't quite reach it. Down on hands and knees, Dwight was trying to reach back to the small crevasse it had backed itself into, but he was too big to fit.

Just was he was about to give up, he heard what sounded like footsteps running towards him. Glancing up he saw a small boy standing not too far away from him.

"Hey!" Dwight called out with a big grin as he motioned for him to come over.

Maybe he was small enough to fit back in there and get the lizard out....

Ah, yes, the pitter-patter of wet little squishy feet and the desperate breaths that went with each one, as Sidon frantically tried to keep up but was slowly realizing that he had, alas! Lost the trail of his lizard and had been so hot in the pursuit that he no longer knew where he'd wound up! But he heard a voice call out to him and he whipped his head (and his long dragging headfin) around toward the other boy with a blink of his eyes.

"Eh?" he asked, blinking again, and pointing to himself. And looking around and seeing no one else, he realized the other boy must have meant him, and his face broke out into a big, toothy grin. "Heh!"

He pumped his fist across his chest and then waved, before "hup, hup, hup!"ing his way closer, bouncing eagerly when he reached the boy with another huge grin.

What was it? Were they going to play a game? Did he know where the lizard went? Did he like to swim?

So many questions! And Sidon without the ability to form them yet, but he was trying to exude them with the sheer power of his energy!

Dwight nodded and motioned again, giving Sidon a grin as he knelt back down and pointed back to the lizard that was still curled up in it's hiding place.

Dwight watched Sidon for a moment. Maybe it was the fact that he always seemed able to make friends fairly easily. Maybe it was some island effect that made it all seem normal. Probably a bit of both.... but whatever the reason Dwight didn't find the sight of the small shark pup odd at all.

"Think you could get back there and get it?" he asked looking back to Sidon. "I'm too big to fit back there. But I bet you could get it easy!"

"Ooh!" said Sidon, eyes still wide and eager, as he crouched down with the other boy and peered into where he was pointing. "Ah!" A lizard! He'd found a lizard, too! But his face went serious as the other boy explained this dire predicament, sizing him up and nodding in agreement. It was true, he was pretty big, but not Sidon! He was still just s little hatchling, but what he lacked in size, he made up for in bravery! Because he was going to be the bravest Zora in all of history!

Well, except for his big sister Mipha! She was the bravest ever! No one was as brave as Mipha!

But he wanted to be as brave as Mipha, so he grinned broadly at the other boy with an eager "heeeeee!" and another pump of his fist to let him know that, yes, he would do it, he would get that lizard!

And to prove it, he was all serious again with a firm little grunt, then he got down on his belly so he could start crawling forward into the hiding spot.

Watch out, lizard! Sidon, the Zora Prince!, was here to catch you!

Dwight watched intently as Sidon wiggled into the space.

"Remember, be careful of it's tail" he called out, not sure how much experience he had with lizards and such.

He watched for a moment, listening to the grunts and squeaks coming from the little guy, waiting to see what would happen.

"Eh?" A surprised...but excited!...little noise squeezed out of Sidon as he stopped his wiggling and squirming and looked at the lizard ahead of him with a new sense of wonder and awe. What was it about the tail? Was it poisonous? Electric like a lizalfo? If it was the latter, he could die!

A little tremble of fear shook Sidon, but he steeled himself, chasing it away. No! He would be brave and strong, just like Mipha! That lizard would be his!

Or, at least, it might have been, if it weren't for the discovery that his arms were much to short to reach it.

But not for lack of trying, if all those little grunts and groans of effort...and, at one point, quite possibly the world's most adorable growl of frustration...were anything to go by!

"Hey, it's ok. Come on back out" he said as he guided the squirming and yes adorably growly form back out into the open again. "Those buggers are fast. It's ok, we can go look for another one if you want" Dwight said with a grin, trying to show Sidon that there was nothing to be sad or upset about. "You did really good in there too, very brave" He added with a smile, figuring that would help the little guy feel better about not getting the lizard.

Sidon wasn't quite ready to give up just yet, squirming a little against the other boy's attempt to guide him back out, making a few more desperate reaches for it. He looked back over his shoulder to see if he could maybe shake him off, but when he turned back toward the lizard, he let out a shocked and dismayed gasp. Gone! It was gone! The lizard had scampered off, with no sign of where he'd disappeared! Alas! He had been foiled this time, but Sidon made a quiet vow to himself that, next time, the lizard...would be his! They would call him Sidon, the Mighty Lizard Capturer! All lizards would flee in fear from his presence!

With a little litany of little sounds, he squirmed his way back out from under the hiding spot and looked up (and up and up) at the other boy, lifting his empty hands to show him that the mission had not been a success, and then sighed, oh so heavily, his tiny shoulders sagging as his large head dropped in dismay.

He had been so close, too!

"Ah it got away" Dwight said knowing what that kind of look meant. He had worn that face quite a few times himself if he was going to be honest about things. "It's ok" he said as he knelt down so he was more on the little guy's level. Dwight put a gentle hand on his shoulder and offered and encouraging smile.

"You did great getting in there though. That was really cool. I can't chance them that far so you were a lot better than me at that hunt... ummmm.." Dwight paused suddenly realizing something. "Betcha ya cant tell me your name can you little guy?" he asked, assuming not based on little more than grunts squeaks ad adorable noises having come from the little guy up to that point.

The hand on his shoulder reminded Sidon almost instantly of Mipha, especially the kind words that went with it, so his disappointment was chased away with a smaller, still uncertain smile, but it got bigger and bigger the more Dwight talked. And as far as the question went? It was true, Sidon hadn't developed his vocal chords enough to make words like older Zoras did...

But he still met it with an eager "Ah! Don!" and jumped a little, holding out his little claws and looking at Dwight intently, to ensure that he had the other boy's utmost attention. And then? He drew in the biggest breath he could so that his chest was nice and puffed out to show how strong he was, and he gave the best fist pump he could muster and the biggest grin, so big it managed to catch a little sunlight of his fangs as he let out a very enthusiastic, "Heeeeeee!"

So that was his name! Clearly!

Dwight smiled, amused at the absolute boundless enthusiasm the little guy had bubbling up. He still had no better idea of what his new friend's name was but you know what, it really didn't matter.

"Hey, how about we go track down another lizard or something else cool to look at? Sound like fun?" he asked as he grinned down at the enthusiastic pup.

Dwight shifted position and gave a reassuring smile. "Wanna go for a ride for a bit?" he asked patting his shoulder with one hand and gave a nod towards Sidon offering to give him a ride.

Ya know, give the little tyke a view of something more than people's kneecaps.

People did have very nice kneecaps, though! Still, Sidon recognized that move and position immediately, and a little gasp of excitement burst out of him. Dwight didn't even need to finish asking his question before Sidon was rushing forward with his little hup!-ing steps to climb as easily and naturally onto Dwight's back as if he had done it a million times before.

Because he had! Well....not on his new friend, but on his sister! Mipha gave him rides around all the time! And up waterfalls! He was pretty sure his new friend couldn't go up waterfalls like she was, because he looked like he was probably Hylian, but that was okay! No one could ever be as good at swimming up waterfalls as Mipha!

So with that associated familiarity, Sidon had no trouble at all getting comfortable and getitng a hold on Dwight that didn't even dig his claws into the other boy's shoulders or anything, and odds were that Dwight could even hear the grin now next to his ear as Sidon got settled.

And then called out with a mighty point of his finger forward. "Ah-ah!" he cheered to urge his new friend foward.

Dwight laughed heartily at the reaction and grinned as he watched Sidon practically dance with excitement. He braced himself as the tyke scrambled up and sat on his shoulder with surprising speed and familiarity.

"Ok hang on. Here we go!" he said as he stood up slowly, drawing it out to delightful shrieks that he could have sworn were basically pleads to go faster. A moment later Dwight turned and headed back down the street. First at a walk, then went faster and faster until they were running down the street.

Dwight let himself go a little bit too and was enjoying himself too quite a bit at the same time. He had never had a brother, let along a little brother, so it was normal for him to take on the big brother role at times. But this little guy was special and even if they couldn't communicate like normal, it was clear they were both having quite the fun time on this little adventure.

"Eeeeeeeeee!"

Yeah, if any indication that Sidon was having a blast was necessarily, the happy, grinning sustain glee would probably do it! Granted, his new friend couldn't go as fast as Mipha, but he was doing pretty good!

"Ah!" he called out, pointing in a direction to goad him that way. "Ah!"

Dwight glanced up to see which way he was being guided and obligated with a sharp turn in whatever direction Sidon steered him in. His own laughter mixed with the delightful squeals as they race down the street, not a care in the world other than looking for whatever new adventure lay just around the corner.

Jon had woken up in a strange place. He was immediately suspicious and panicked, but somehow he just knew it wasn't Mr. Spider's and he was safe, which...it made it a little better, even if he wasn't sure he should trust it.

But it wasn't like being in a new place was going to make him want to wander less, so after making himself breakfast, he headed out to see what was going on.

He was going to avoid the other children, though. In his experience, they didn't like him much.

Dwight had been spending most of the morning chasing lizards and other critters. He had just finished catching a rather impressive one and had just stood up, admiring the beautiful reptile when he caught sight of someone nearby.

"Hey!" Dwight said as he gave a wave with his free hand to the boy across the street.

Jon winced a little. He'd been seen. He reluctantly nodded and lifted his hand in a kind of wave at the other boy. He was bigger than Jon, but most kids were; it didn't necessarily mean he'd be a bully. Maybe Jon could escape with just a bit of scorn.

Dwight stared at the strange silent boy for a moment before calling out again.
"Wanna see a really cool lizard?" Dwight held up what he had to admit was one of the larger lizards he had ever seen just running around. (good ole fandom fun)

Jon was still a little suspicious, but a lizard did sound cool. "What's it look like?" he asked, coming a little closer.

"Think it's a skink" Dwight said as he gave it another look and then held it out towards Jon. "Has a really cool blue tail and everything."

Carefully, so as not to get too close to the big kid, Jon edged over to look. "It...I guess it does look kinda cool," he agreed. "Um. Is it...it it the kind where its tail comes off?"

"I think so" Dwight said as he held it carefully between his fingers and ran a finger down its back to the tip of the tail. "We have a lot of these guys back home. Haven't seen one this big before though. They must really like it here."

Jon reached out with a careful finger to pet the lizard, too. "I've never seen one like this."

"I've had smaller ones as pets before" Dwight offered. "They are really cool."

A slight pause before he looked back to Jon.

"You have any pets back home... wherever that is?"

Jon shook his head. "I'm from Bournemouth. We don't have any pets, though. Grandma says they're too much to take care of, but maybe when I'm older and I can look after one myself. I think I'd like to get a cat. I pet the cats in the street, and they're soft, and they're not loud and jumpy like dogs are."

"Cats are nice" Dwight said with a nod. " We have dogs but they are my dad's hunting dogs. So I don't get to play with them or anything. Which I don't think it fair" he added firmly. "Maybe I will be able to have a dog or cat when I'm older too. Right now it's just the snakes and frogs and things I can catch in the woods where we live."

Jon scrunched his nose. Hunting? Dwight must be rich if his dad had hunting dogs. "Snakes can be dangerous, but they mostly aren't. But frogs can be too, but snakes are venomous and frogs are poisonous, and it's different."

Should he have said all that? Maybe he shouldn't be talking so much to a rich person; they were mean sometimes. But Dwight had been nice so far, sharing his lizard. Jon shifted nervously.

Dwight considered him for a moment before speaking again.

"I'm Dwight, by the way" he said offering a slight smile, seeing how nervous Jon seemed all of a sudden. "You know, I always thought poisonous was the same as venomous. You must know a lot about animals and such."

"Poisonous means you can't eat them, and venomous means don't let them bite you," Jon explained. "I'm Jon. I read a book all about them and sometimes there's shows on TV." When he could sit still for them.

"That's really cool" Dwight said. "I like to read sometimes but I honestly like just doing things myself better."

Yes Tweeny Dwight was already well on his way to being the grown up version of Dwight would would glance at instructions, maybe, before jumping in and trying to figure something out or put something together. He came by it naturally.

"Hey, you wanna go look for more lizards? Or I think I saw a park if you wanna go hang out there?"

"I don't know..." Why would Dwight want to spend time with Jon? Was it a trick to make fun of him later? "I should probably go."

"I mean you don't have to come if you don't want," Dwight said, looking a little disappointed. "Is there something you would rather do? We don't have to just run around. What would you like to do?"

"I-I don't know," Jon said. He shrugged. "I like to explore." It was just that nobody ever wanted to spend that much time around him, and then sometimes they got mean.

"well, you're welcome to tag along. And if you change your mind and want to leave that's cool too," Dwight said as he knelt back down and held his hand out before slowly opening his hand and let the lizard go.

"Maybe," Jon said a bit dubiously. "Maybe later."

"Well, if I see ya around, you are welcome to tag along" Dwight said with a nod as he turned to head off down the street again. "Was ta meet ya Jon!" he called out as he headed off.
