In Tino's defense, he couldn't know why that delivery showed up. They got weird things all the time here. Who even blinked an eye at this point.

SPECIALS
UNDYING RESPECT IF YOU KEEP DRINK/KEEP DOWN MEAT SELTZER

You know who's blink an eye? Kitty. .

"No. No. We're not doing meat seltzer specials. What we need to do is take this out back and burn it," Kitty said.

This made no sense to Tino, who grabbed a pack of the seltzers and a lighter anyway and started to head into the alley.

"Don't take that seriously!"

The specials today were chaos, apparently.

A high schooler? In a bar? It was more likely than you thought.

"Do you guys sell blood," Gray asked as he climbed onto a bar stool, "or do I have to go to the vampire bar for that?" He felt like he should have looked into this earlier, but, well. Sloth.

"We keep Tru Blood in stock, if that works," Kitty told him.

[napking]

"...I don't know what that is," Gray was forced to admit.

Was it anything like meat seltzer?

"It's synthetic blood," she said. "I hear there's not really a difference but can't speak to that myself."

[napking]

Gray looked kind of dubious, but said, "I guess I could try it. Could you make a cosmo but add like...half a shot of the Tru Blood stuff? And then we'll see if it does anything. For science."

Oh, right, he should probably explain himself. "The alcohol won't do anything to me unless there's blood in it. Or ambrosia, if you have that." Seeing as how this was an establishment that apparently sold meat seltzer, he felt like they were more likely to have the congealed salad than the divine nectar version.

"I can do the cosmo. We could order the ambrosia," Kitty said, getting a glass.

"Vampire?" she guessed.

Oh! Oh, was this the part where Gray finally actually told someone on this island what he was? Exciting!

"Nephilim, actually."

Yes, they were generally taller.

"Let's see if the Tru Blood works first before you go ordering anything. I'm not much of a drinker. It makes me sleepy." Kitty might have noticed from having Gray in her class that a lot of things made him sleepy.

Stark looked at the specials board then looked at Kitty then back to the board.

"Are you secretly Summer right now?"

Look. Bodyswaps happened sometimes, ok?

"I'm telling Summer you asked that," Kitty warned.

She felt like- she hoped- Summer had standards that begin like right before meat seltzer.

"That's fine," Stark told her. "I think she would expect it from me. Though there isn't any jello mentioned so you probably aren't her."

Not that Summer was limited to jello but the other horrifying things didn't usually appear at Caritas.

[throughaphase]

"I'm me. And Tino is being very Tino right now."

Tino was just the messenger! The silent, dumb messenger!

"Is the seltzer his fault?"

Blaming Tino seemed like the best course of action regardless. Wasn't that what Tino was for?

Tino held up his hands like even he wouldn't be named for this.

"The specials are his fault," Kitty reasoned.

Tino held out a ham and cheese one. Maybe Stark wanted it!

Rosa had never thought of herself as someone who needed to be concerned about her vision, but sitting down at her usual spot was making her question that right now.

"I'm sorry," she said, "does that say meat seltzer?"

Sometimes, it just didn't hurt to verify.

"It's Oscar Mayer," Kitty sighed. "I didn't order it."

Take note, squirrels! Take god damn note!!

"But..." said Rosa, after a moment, "you're still serving it?"

And now that the concern about her vision proved to be a moot point, she now had to consider...her morals.

"No, I've been busy stopping Tino from starting a bonfire with it to take it off the board, which was my fault, it's a bad night."

However if someone wanted it, Tino would absolutely serve it.

Rosa looked like she was about to ask another question, had gone so far as to open her mouth and take that inhale of breath that would turn into words, but then...thought much, much better of it, and, instead, asked, "So can I buy the bartender a drink tonight, too?"

One more lingering moment on the board. "Or a few?"

"Thanks, but it's okay. I feel like I have to have my wits about me tonight."

For meat seltzer related reasons. Ugh what was her life today.

"What's meat seltzer?" poor, innocent Steve asked.

[throughaphase]

"Well, Steve," Kitty sighed. "It's seltzer designed to taste like meat. If you want carbonated olive loaf..."

"I like celery soda," Steve said optimistically. "How bad can this be?"

STEVEN.

Kitty stared at him.

Even Tino stared.

"Steve."

Steve, you were being judged by Tino. Look at your life, look at your choices.

"It could be amazing!" Steve said defensively.

"It.... Steve," Kitty said again. "I'll have to explain this to Tony."
