Rest assured, there was not a single can of meat seltzer or weird soda in sight at Caritas that evening.

Well, Tino seemed to have somehow gotten his hands on a bottle of pizza beer, but that just meant Summer felt particularly justified in just mostly ignoring him tonight, which was, generally, par for the course, anyway.

"Just don't let any of the customers see that," she informed him. "I think I might actually have to try and earn some trust back after last week."

Which, really, she still didn't think the meat seltzer was even half as bad as some of the other food crimes she'd committed in the past, but she did know how to read a bar.

Lucifer had been in Austria since last week. He also hadn't managed to make it to Caritas in time. So he walked in with purpose, half a word on his tongue, and--

Stopped.

"What. Is. That."

Of course he noticed the pizza beer.

Summer was briefly confused for a moment, as she naturally just went to the specials board, wondering what could have caused offense there when she's specifically tried to avoid such a thing, only to then actually follow Lucifer's eyes to...

"God dammit, Tino!"

Then she sighed and turned back to Lucifer.

"Pizza beer," she admitted, with a note of deflation in there. "It's pizza beer."

A pause.

"Do you want one?"

Allowing it out into the wild could have a ripple effect, but she almost felt bad for not offering, weirdly enough.

Goose had not noticed the pizza beer yet but he had seemed to notice a particular lack of meat seltzer this week, “there’s no more meat seltzer?” he asked, tilting his head as he read the specials.

He may have been hoping for more despite all the meat seltzer he'd had last week.

"Sweetie," said Summer, holding out a hand consolingly, "I think I might need to stage an intervention."

For a monster that she had created herself, sure, but no one should ever reach a point of being disappointed by the lack of meat seltzer, and this had clearly gone too far.

Liz had felt bad that she hadn’t stopped by to see Summer earlier this week, so she decided to try and spend some time at Caritas instead, “hi,” she said softly with a smile as she took a seat, “I think I’d like to try a couple of the non alcoholic shots this week please,”

Believe it or not, Liz, Summer actually could survive being without her weekly Try-Not-To-Shake-The-Pregnant-Lady ritual every so often, but, if you were going to ensure that the bases were covered there, she was glad that you went with the one that involved all the jello.

But Summer nodded and considered. "You want to try all four of them?" she asked. "I've got 'em all virgin except the grapes."

Because, well, the tequila was kind of the whole point of the grapes, really.

It was probably a good thing Eddie didn't notice the pizza beer. He probably would have tried it. It seemed like the sort of fad thing the 80's would pump out.

Had to be better than New Coke, amirite?

"I gotta say, Red, that these shots look a lot more appealing that last week's," Eddie said as he sat down. "Though still fancy."

He was used to jello shots being made in ice cube trays solely to get girls who didn't like alcohol drunk at parties.

"What can I say?" Summer said, shrugging a little, a gesture that was in direct contrast to the proud, almost beaming grin on her face as she looked fondly at those specials. "I like my fancy jello shots. I am an artiste, you know."

One more moment of preening before her attention shifted back. "Good to see you back, though, Eddie," she noted with an approving nod. "What are we getting today?"

"Which one is your favorite?" Annie asked as she took a seat, feeling that she owed Summer a concession or two in the way of shot selection after last week's meat seltzer...concern.

Which appeared to have taken, so thank God for that.

Look, just because the terrible ones were front and center last week instead of just buried in the comments section, as it were...

"Probably the cupcakes," Summer admitted, after considering the options and tempted to pick a different one for...reasons, but it was probably the more truthful answer, "although, really, they're all bangers this week, if I do say so myself."

Rey only thought she was subtle when she checked out the specials board before sitting down, BB-8 rolling in behind her with a tiny little foam shark's fin attached to his dome.

"There are cupcakes?"

"They are now!" said Summer, triumphantly, as she oh-so-stealthily fixed a link. And, to prove it, she got one out to set out in front of Rey. "Well...they're cupcake-shaped. And pretty cupcake flavored, too, but they are made of jello. And pretty good, too, if I do say so myself."

There was a slight pause.

"I have shark gummies again, too!"

You dive into one bag of shark gummies one time, and your friends never let you forget about it....

Connor had spent most of the day out doing research around the island with Rex. And after a long productive day, it was only natural to reward yourself right? So that was what Connor was doing as he walked into Caritas and sat down.

"Good evening," he said with a nod and slight grin to Summer.

"Hi!" Excuse Summer a moment as she got that eager little thrill that always came with a new face at the bar, and she grinned right back at Connor, several wattages more, though. "Welcome to Caritas! What can we get for you tonight? Obviously, we've got the Wednesday jello shot specials," with a gesture toward the board, of course, "but obviously we've got a good selection of other options, too."

Stark was unsure about coming in here tonight. Stark was unsure about ever looking Summer in the face again. Stark was unsure about a lot of things. That, at least, was nothing new.

He'd decided to give it a try even though he was tempted to turn and run right back out the door.

The bartop was very interesting tonight, wasn't it? So interesting. "Hello, Summer," he said, definitely addressing the bartop and not the bartender. Hey, at least he'd made it in here. He almost hadn't.

And Summer, who had definitely been wondering if she would be seeing Stark at the bar that evening, was very impressed that she was. And decided to make the bartop a little bit more visually interesting by plopping a cupcake jello shot right into his eyesight.

"Hello, Stark," she greeted him back. "How's it going?"

Gray stopped dead in his tracks several steps from the bar and said, "Holy shit."

He didn't sound horrified. He might have sounded a little bit awed.

"Hold up the bottle," he told Tino, re: the pizza beer. "I need a glamour shot of this. Raiden's gonna flip." His other brothers would never forgive him, but...details.

"Dammit, Tino!" Summer said, once she realized that Gray's holy shit was not in reference to something that she actually really needed to be concerned about, although she was a little ticked off that the likelihood of certain people who shouldn't know about pizza beer would find out about pizza bear just went up a little more.

But Gray? Gray was...fine. Gray, she knew by now, could appreciate it on the proper level of being weirdly fascinated but hopefully at least a little disgusted, which is not what she could say about a few other people.

But just to make sure...

"Please don't tell me you actually want one," she said, "and this is merely for posterity."

It meant a lot! When Summer was actually discouraging people from drinking something horrible!
