The Park, Sunday afternoon

Hannibal had become used to cooking for Liz, and now for Raven, but he hadn't actually had a dinner party in far too long, one of the few things he missed about high society. So, since it was a lovely day out, and this seemed more Fandom's speed, Hannibal had set up shop in the park, and he was cooking. He had faith that the smell would bring at least a few people out.

Anyone that thought this meant simple burgers, though, might be disappointed. There were peanut butter, cheddar, and bacon burgers, scallion and brie stuffed burgers, grilled flank steak with grilled corn, grilled fish kebabs, and grilled mushroom burgers with tarragon crema. Then there were grilled watermelon and honeydew salad, spiced potato salad, autumn spiced apple and pear hand pies, and of course s'mores, albeit with an assortment of fruits and nuts available.

Summer had, briefly, considered whipping up some jello for this, but it was clear to see when she got to the park that, yeah, no, Dr. Lecter pretty much had everything covered and anything she could have put together on short notice would have just looked sad. So, prepared to fend off the expected comments about why she didn't bring jello, she was here and glad to enjoy something that someone else had prepared that didn't necessarily wiggle because there didn't always need to be jello, you guys, come on.

And let Hannibal be the first to say, "And here I was counting on you for the solid alcohol." He grinned to show he was teasing. "What can I get for you?"

"Take it in a lesson in better planning, then," Summer smirked back. "I've elevated to a quality where I won't settle for half-assed, last minute jobs. But I could definitely destroy some of those burgers."

Stark might actually be incapable of not saying hello to Summer when they were in the same place. Aside from the times he was unable to even look at her for various reasons. But this was not one of those times so he was going to walk over.

"Hello, Summer. Good weekend so far?"

Even when he couldn't look at her, he could still say hello! There might just be some confusion as to whether it was to her or the ground.

"A quiet weekend," Summer answered, with the blissful smile of someone for whom those were few and far between. "And now good food, so no complaints here. How about yours?"

With the faint smirk of a bartender who was there on Wednesday.

Did someone say picnic? Miguel showed up. Then he left and came back because I suddenly realized Hannibal hadn't brought drinks with plenty Death Wish iced coffee, a cooler full of sodas (which Hannibal sighed at, but Americans would be Americans), and another cooler full of beer and cider with a webbed-on sign reading "NO MINORS ALLOWED". Hey, he'd done his duty.

If there was food about Connor was going to be interested. Especially when it was free food. So it turned out that when he and Rex headed over to the Park they were greeted by a delicious smelling and looking spread.

"Alright be a good boy now for me, mate? We're still the newbies in town. Wanna make a good impression and all right?"

Rex gave a happy chirp in reply and jumped up on Connor's shoulders looking like was sniffing the air as well.

Hannibal looked over at them. "Hello, I don't believe we've met before." He nodded. "Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Teacher and local psychiatrist. And you are?"

"Connor Temple. Semi-still-newbie to the place" he said with a grin. "And this here's Rex," he said with a nod. "Don't worry, he's harmless and well behaved *cough*mostofthetime*cough*. Please to meet you Dr. Lecter."

Stark would be thoroughly lost at any sort of high society dinner party. A picnic he could handle.

Sundays were usually quiet for him so he wandered over to the park to see what was happening. It all certainly smelled good.

"Stark, hello." Hannibal nodded to him. "Can I get you something to eat?"

Stark rarely ended up eating fish in spite of living on an island, so he nodded towards the fish kebabs. "Could I try one of those, to start?"

Ok this? This was definitely more Dwight's style. Cookouts were much more his speed and far less awkward than a big dinner party. Though that spread looked equal parts delicious and intimidating!

"Welcome, Dwight." Hannibal waved at the food. "May I get you anything?"

"Let's go with one of those mushroom burgers," he decided. "It's been a while. How have things been going?"

Liz had received the invite to the picnic and at first wasn’t sure about being up for socialising just yet with Prompto only just being back but Prompto had convinced her that they could go together so they both arrived to the picnic, once Liz had found a pair of sunglasses for Prompto since it was still much to bright for him.

She was a little nervous but Prompto being there was definitely helping and she was staying as close to him as possible.

Oh, god, so bright, and the sunglasses could only do so much, and he was probably not even remotely emotionally ready for this, but....the bar last night had been okay. And the food. Oh, gods, the food...

....if anything, if it became too much, maybe could just sequester some food to go and take some back to the apartment and figure no one could blame him for at least An Attempt Well Made.

He was kind of curious, too, how many people he could still remember and recognize.

“Are you okay?” Liz was aware that this was still a lot for him and she was staying as close to him as possible, “we can head back if this is too much?”

Hannibal smiled at her. "Welcome, Liz. You look much improved today."

Cutter had gone for a walk and had happened upon the picnic and figured it wouldn’t hurt to stay for awhile, especially if someone else was cooking food.

Hope you didn't mind a visit from a very happy little green 'dragon' there Cutter. Cuz Rex was definitely going to come over and say hi once he realized you were there.

"Hello," Hannibal said. "I don't believe we've met. Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Can I interest you in some food?"

Nell decided to take a break from organizing and ended up following the delicious scents to the park. She should have known it was Dr. Lector's cooking she smelled. She made her way over to see what was there and fill her plate. It had been so long since she'd been here that she wasn't certain if she'd remember anyone.

She might not, but Hannibal remembered her, even if it did take a moment to recognize her.

"Nell," he said, nodding her over. "I had heard you were back. What may I offer you?"

“Hi Nell,” Liz smiled as she spotted her and made her way over to her, “how have you been settling in since you got back?”
