Steven made it to work on time, which he hoped was the first of what might be many bits of good fortune to the day.

In the meanwhile he was busy texting Layla to ask her about the weekend and about getting paperwork for Llewellyn. Which wasn't work related at all but it kept him busy while waiting to see if there were any visitors.

"I don't think there's a prescribed etiquette for this kind of thing, for what it's worth," Annie offered gently, smiling a little. "I know Wanda's mentioned having to watch what she says because our Steve, around here, is from a few years back and she doesn't want to 'spoil' him, but that's one of those weird things about living in Fandom. The timelines and the multiverse stuff gets confusing with, like, knowing versions of people and knowing people who share faces or whatever."

Realization hit Steven when she said that. "That must be it! I think Wanda and I are about the same time? Different worlds but if Captain America is from earlier - oh dear. Yes. That would be a great deal different."

Half the universe disappearing, as one minor example.

"Thank you, that's very helpful to know," Steven said, immensely grateful that he now had this piece of the puzzle. "And yeah, that would be it. I mentioned where he was. Where I'm from. It's, erm, a bit of a change. I suppose no harm in telling you, is there? He's on the moon, you see. And, well, me being avatar of a god of the moon you can see why I had a bit of an interest."

Steve Rogers of Steven's world was probably not on the moon. But Steven, like many from his world, did not know that.

"He's on the moon? Uh, yeah, that would do the trick," Annie repeated, incredulous. "You know, my brother-in-law-to-be -- one of them -- spent a few years on the moon."

Maybe she could see if Luther could, like, give Steve some moon tips at the wedding? But in a subtle way. Everyone's strong suit, there.

"Really?" Steven asked, unaware that Annie was thinking of introducing him to someone perhaps as awkward at parties as he was, if not moreso. "I've not been. Not a perk of the job or anything. Or if it is Konshu's not mentioned it. But he's not the most forthright either. I was able to move stars about though."

God, they might need to have some kind of awkward-off.

"Now that I'm jealous of," Annie noted, clearly interested. "I've never asked Luther about the moon -- it wasn't, like, a very happy time in his life, I think -- but he was up there for years and could probably tell you all kinds of stuff about it. From a, like, science standpoint, anyway."

Like, did you want to know about rocks, Steven? Luther probably knew a lot about moon rocks.

"Oh, I wouldn't want him to be bothered," Steven said, even though he would actually listen to someone talk about moon rocks. "Especially during a happy occasion. If it's bad memories, I mean. I imagine it's fascinating though. Living on the moon! Don't know how Captain America does it, to be honest. Assuming some sort of dwelling takes care of all the details."

Or maybe Cap could survive in space without any protective gear. Wouldn't be the first hero from Steven's universe who could do that.

"I mean, I've seen that guy do some crazy things," Annie noted lightly. "Maybe he can breathe in space. Though yeah, I'd assume some kind of like...space house. Do you know what he's doing up there?"

Some kind of...Captain America moon research? Fighting moon monsters?

"No idea, I'm afraid," Steven said. "I think he's sort of retired? I did see some news bits about new Captains but they looked nothing like him."

One had a horrible jawline for the helmet and the other was Black, for example.
