Don't ask exactly how Summer managed to foist koala-Stark onto Tino. The important part was that she had, she was feeling very proud of herself, and she was giving both of them a very wide breadth to avoid having the koala foisted back on her until the end of the night.

She would absolutely subject koala-Stark to Tino for the duration of the evening so that she could better do her job, but she would never actually subject the poor guy to having to deal with Tino for any longer than that. She liked Stark, after all. But she also liked not having a koala clinging to her at all times, too.

She did, however, have some duct tape ready for the inevitable moment when Tino tried to foist Stark on the zombies and they found out why that wasn't going to go over very well.

“Good evening, Miss Smith,” Watts said, settling in to his seat with his usual flourish. “And how are you tonight?”

"Good evening, Detective Watts," Summer replied with her usual prim loftiness, before it melted a little into a sigh. "And I'm fine, I guess, except for the koala-sitting."

She gestured, but very subtly, as if fearing that making it too obvious would remind Stark that he was clinging to Tino instead of to her, and then where would they all be?

"How are you? And what are we in the mood for tonight?"

"I am... quite good, actually. And I think a Nebbiolo, tonight?" he asked.

"I swear," said Summer, shaking her head a little and going to find exactly that for Watts, and not even going for any sort of bottle distinction this time, except merely grabbing the first and possibly only one she could locate, "if I hadn't just been researching wines trying to figure out what Ignis might order tonight, I'd have thought you made that one up. But, no, I now know that that is actually a red from Northern Italy with a powerful, full body that isn't shy about its tannins."

Please be very impressed with her, Watts. In fact, Summer was just going to wait expectantly after pouring and setting down the glass for just that, thank you.

“You have done your research,” Watts said with a nod. “I’m impressed.” Almost like he’d read the narrative.

"THANK you," said Summer, with a nod and a good solid minute of straight preening to have her hard work recognized. "Granted, I'll probably forget all of that by tomorrow, and I don't know you nearly as well as I know Ignis,"--well, as she seemed to think she knew Ignis, anyway--"so it''ll probably be a while before I can start predicting yours, but I am paying attention. Statistically speaking, I'm bound to get it eventually."

"Unless," Watts said, "Now that I know you are attempting to predict my choices, I start deliberately making more unusual ones."

"Unless," Summer added, with a little bit of a smirk, "by telling me you might deliberately start making more unusual choices because you now know I'm attempting to predict them, you try to get me to look into those more unusual choices and wind up going back to your basic bitch pinots to throw off throwing me off."

Steven bumped his shoulder against Llewellyn's. He looked quite pleased with himself. "Hello, you."

“Hello, you,” Watts greeted right back. “You’re in good spirits.”

Steven wasn't going to try any sort of game of making Llewellyn guess why he was in a good mood given that Llewellyn did not like surprises. So instead he came right out with, "I've an idea for our holiday? Next week? If you're interested?"

Steven’s continued respect of that particular dislike was greatly appreciated.

“I am always interested in anything you have to say,” Watts pointed out with a smile.

"How would you feel about a winery?" Steven asked. "Not - I mean I know you generally like them. But this one's different. They make wines from local fruits. Not grapes."

“Really?” Watts asked, visibly interested as he leaned even more into Steven’s space than he was already. “I admit, that does sound fascinating.”

"Hang about," Steven said. He patted his coat down for his glasses and his mobile, then used both to pull up the website of the place in question. He then held his mobile out for Llewellyn to take if it made it easier for him to see. "There. It looks nice as well. Country like."

“It does look rather- oh. Hmm,” Watts said thoughtfully as he clicked on the restaurant menu.

Steven looked worried. He still didn't know enough about wine to guess what Llewellyn might like in this sort of an outing. He'd been hoping he'd picked something good, but in truth he had no idea how to guess that. "Something wrong?"

The wine part looked absolutely fascinating! It was just-

“Not much of a menu if we wanted to take a meal there,” he pointed out. There was absolutely nothing suitable on the dinner menu, in fact. Lunch was a little better, with two possible options.

"Oh. Yeah," Steven said. He'd noticed that as well. "And it's fifty minutes away."

Steven was from England. A fifty minute drive may as well be a trip to Mars, by his way of thinking.

“Only fifty minutes?” Watts, meanwhile, was very much a product of his time, where a two-hour train ride was considered a short trip.

“If we can find somewhere else suitable for dinner, a tour and tasting does sound lovely,” Watts admitted. “So long as you don’t mind?” he checked. Wine was his interest and not Steven’s, after all.

"I found it for you," Steven said. "You're always so wonderful about finding things for me. I wanted to do the same."

"You- found it for me?" Watts echoed, as if he couldn't quite believe someone would go to such trouble.

(Because he couldn't.)

"Of course," Steven said. He smiled at Llewellyn. "Not going on this holiday with anyone else, am I?"

"I could kiss you right now, Steven Grant," Watts said fondly.

"I - " Steven was taken aback, but in a pleasant way. "I mean you could?"
