"Pfft, pllah, pffft!"

Summer, shaking her head, tried to desperately brush the threads of spiderwebs off her face and off of her trays of jello shots as she came in and discovered the hard way that Tino did not, in fact, take Kitty's criticism about putting spiderwebs over the doorways to heart.

"Like," she said, "the back room, I understand, but the main door, Tino? How are people supposed to come in?"

Which was where he pointed out that, based on the numbers she'd been pulling these last few weeks, he didn't think that would be a problem.

"Wow, okay, harsh."

But, like, okay, true, but she wasn't going to let him have that one. She was just going to send him into the stock room to look for something she knew they didn't have, which would give her enough time to cover the door with spider webs to see how he liked it.

Which was why Tino, who apparently was into it, was now wearing spiderwebs the whole night.

It took a little bit -- and maybe some of her paloma -- before Nancy finally actually said what she'd been thinking since she'd spotted Anakin.

"I kinda want to ask you for a product list," she sighed, eyes on his spiderweb-free -- but also, importantly, curly and luxuriant -- hair.

And then, in an acknowledgement of Anakin's advanced age and the fact she was pretty sure he was, like, in charge of the school, she added, "If that's not weird. Sir."

Anakin grinned. "My wife would give them to you for free," he said. "She says they take up half the bathroom."

Because they took up half the bathroom.

"She sounds like my brother." Which was a weird thing to say about someone's wife, but you know. "I haven't quite figured out the art of perm maintenance in the 2020s."

It was like they'd gone out of fashion or something?

"Perm?" Anakin repeated.

"Yeah, like...." Nancy reached up and pulled on one of her own springy curls, her eyes darting up to Anakin's hair again. "If that's not permed, I really want your secrets."

"Oh, I'm naturally curly," Anakin said, finally figuring it out. "Do you not want quite so much--"

He gestured in the general direction of her head. "--volume?"

"Lucky." Nancy's hair in its natural state was long and straight and frizz-free, which just went to show that everyone in the world probably had hair envy in one way or another. "It's a little too...concentrated."

So yeah, the volume, but also -- "I miss eighties mousse."

No, you didn't, Nancy. No one did.

Anakin blinked, sorting through the various definitions of the word before guessing "hair stuff" and not "dessert".

"I can give you some suggestions," Anakin said. "Summer has most of them at T&C."

Hey, maybe large North American hoofed animals were also different thirty-fiveish years ago, too! Homophone fun!

"That would be great," Nancy replied with a relieved, pleased smile, and belatedly stuck out her right hand a little awkwardly. "I'm Nancy, by the way. Thank you."

"Anakin," he replied, shaking her offered hand. "It's nice to meet you."
