The Ballroom in Avengers Tower (But Make It Bitty), Friday Night

The ballroom was positively sparkling with glitter and the light off of the brand new chandelier for the occasion. (Which should really come as a surprise to no one considering how many chandeliers they'd cycled on through for previous events.)

In preparation to the many amateur skaters they were anticipating, the half-sized walls around the skating rink--now located below the chandelier and taking up three quarters of the normal ballroom space--were well-padded.

There were drinks and appetizers and plenty of good music ready for people to come in and have a fun evening out if they were so inclined! Time to roller disco!

The benefit of throwing a party together is that they wouldn't have Steve or Ignis holding them back from their true potential reining them in.

"We should set up portals from your ballroom to mine so people can freely mingle back and forth," Liliana decided, because sure, that was necessary.

If they didn't want Liliana and Tony brainstorming together, they shouldn't have left them alone. Obviously. Now their only hope was to lure them both into a lab with a design suggestion and hope the two of them forgot these plans in lieu of new ones.

"Some kind of separate-but-related concept--" Like magic and science, as a random example "--one in each ballroom. And as the night goes on, they blend together."

How would that work? Magic and/or science was how!

Really, this was all their fault for not being more alert.

"I can always ask Reed if I can borrow some portals from him. But he gets so possessive of them."

If you really looked at it, this was a learning experience for them. And learning was good!

"Would it help if you invited him to the party?"

Except then Dr. Doom would come and get all huffy about techno-magic.

And also, they'd have to deal with Reed Richards at their party.

"Oh, he is not a party person outside of his family," Tony replied. "His wife would be more likely to come. Lovely woman, Sue. Also terrifying."

He said it with so much affection.

"I suppose I just haven't seen Steve in the right circumstances then," Liliana said with a smile. "He seems far too sweet to be terrifying. Though I can certainly see...implacable, yes."
