The mechanical bull was still sort of going, in the way where when you least expected it, it'd move with a slow and very spooky creeeeeeak that would startle everyone. So there was a repair guy in tonight. A mechanical bull repair guy.

It shouldn't have been awkward except he'd started off saying "It looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet, which is terrible for the gears" and after that he just kept making the occasional bull pun. But it was getting fixed. Hopefully. Please be getting fixed, he'd been here for hours.

Caritas was open, just ignore the back room please.

"Hello Kitty Pryde-Barton," Yelena said taking a seat at the bar. "I have come for liquid refreshment of the alcoholic variety."

"If it isn't my favorite drinks newbie," Kitty greeted her. "Got a taste for anything in particular today?"

"I want something... whiskey-ish," Yelena said leaning on the bar. "Does that make sense? It feels like a whiskey kind of day but not quite."

"Okay. Do you like maple?"

She already came with ideas. Yelena was keeping her on her toes professionally.

"Let's find out," Yelena said eagerly. "What do you have in mind?"

"Maple bourbon smash," Kitty said. "Maple and bourbon- natch- with a little lemon and orange juice and seltzer."

"Ooooo. You have my attention," Yelena said sitting up straight now. "Sounds delicious already. Make it a double."

"Done," Kitty said, starting on it. "I'm going to need to start a spreadsheet."

Nerd.

"A spreadsheet for what? How many times have I come in here?" Yelena asked, confusedly. "I mean it's public record but that feels creepy."

"Well, making it a spreadsheet of the drinks I've made you so I don't double up makes me sound like less of a stalker," Kitty told her.

"I appreciate the effort but I think you're taking your bartending duties a bit far Kitty Pryde-Barton," Yelena teased. "Repeats are ok. I don't need something new every time I visit. Just something tasty."

"I'm not sure you realize how fun this is for me," Kitty smiled.

"And here I thought I was just making you work for tips," Yelena joked.

"The hell is that noise?" He would never ignore that, Kitty. Never.

"Probably the guy fixing the mechanical bull," she said, casually, getting an beer out.

It's like she knew him!

"This place has a mechanical bull?" Logan asked like he hadn't been in way sketchier bars before.

"Yeah, back room with the stripper pole," she said, setting said beer on the bar for him. "Oh, and the darts."

He paused at the stripper pole, but then moved onto a little shrug at the darts. Darts weren't terrible.

"And then the zombies too."

[throughaphase]

"I inherited the zombies," Kitty said. "I don't even know how it all happened anymore."

Well the bull at least was completely her own fault.

[theworst_verine]

"You inherited the zombies?" Logan repeated around a swig of his beer.

[throughaphase]

Kitty shrugged. "They came with the place."

[theworst_verine]

"Uh huh." This was all dumb and ridiculous and he hoped you knew that, Kitty.

"They're fine. They make their music, you Febreze them on a timer, everybody leaves each other alone."

Come on, Logan. C'Mon.

You couldn't make him!

"They're still corpses. They smell like corpses with Fabreeze on top."

"But the Febreze makes it less bad."
