Caritas; Wednesday [07/30].

Koala sitting hadn't necessarily put a damper on Summer's work in trying to figure out what to do about her jello enterprise in Ravnica, but it did sort of make it slightly slower going than she would have liked. Since she was so distracted with all of that, though, she didn't have time to put a lot of thought into what to do for her shift at the bar tonight. Thankfully, a quick look through her pantry to do some inventory on what she had and what might need used up before she completely switched gears to another plane for a while, helped her get some inspiration.

Or, at the very least, find something that she had way too much of that she should probably use up soon.

Three guesses as to what type of booze in particular seemed to have been collecting a lot of dust among all the vodka, rum, and gin...

Raiden had just realized how long it had been since he'd been to Caritas, and had decided to correct that...right now.

"Summer!" The girl, not the season. The season did not deserve that kind of enthusiasm.

Well, at least there was very little question as to what she meant with that one, right? Summer beamed to see him.

"Hey! How's it been, man? Did I get a chance to congratulate you on the new restaurant yet?"

"I don't think so, but my memory is not the best," Raiden admitted cheerfully. "Plus I think you were out of town?" Or maybe she had been one of the many animals (and plants) around lately? See above re: his memory.

"I have been out of town," Summer confirmed with a nod, "but I was able to check it out with Stark before I left, and I don't think we've talked since then, so, then, yes, congratulations on the new restaurant! How are you liking it?"

"It's great! Getting to stretch the ol' creative muscles and branch out from pizza is necessary sometimes, y'know? Don't get me wrong, pizza is still the best. But you understand that, right, from your own art?" He meant the Jello, of course.

"Did everything turn into brandy?" she asked as she took her seat.

"Technically, no," Summer said, "although you could maybe make that argument. I was just doing an inventory of what I had and realized that I had a lot of it, apparently, because I guess I don't use it much. So, you know. Making up for lost time. How's it going, Rey?"

"Pretty good," she said, but was much more focused on, "How are preparations going?"

To which Summer could only respond with a groan and a roll of her eyes. "Frustrating," she admitted, slouching slightly and shaking her head. "The real estate market is fucking tough on Ravnica. Any reasonable place I can afford is already taken up, and the other options are so bad they may as well not even be options. And I'm worried if I don't act soon, then the hype is going to die down, you know? So I might have to do something quick and dirty this weekend to keep interest up while I try to hash out the last of the logistics.

"On the bright side, though," she added, trying to stay positive, "they have a lot of really interesting boozes to work with out there, too. Thus the inventory of my own booze and the discovery that I have a ton of fucking brandy, apparently."

She should know better, she was the one figuring out eventual temples.

"Well," said Summer, smiling sweetly at Jack who seriously had to see himself walking into that one, "now that you're here...obviously yes."

He had, which is why Jack managed an absolutely phoned-in groan at best. "I can't believe you went with the lowest-hanging fruit," he complained. "I'll have a pretentious soda while I side-eye you, thanks."

"I do not understand how you've known me for as long as you have," Summer noted, still all beaming pride as she went to get his pretentious soda and set it in front of him, "and still be surprised that I will pick my fruit off the fucking ground if it's juicy enough, and yet...but, you know, memory just isn't what it used to be, huh? Careful with that side-eye, though. Wouldn't want you to trigger any age-related macular degeneration or anything."

But with at least a few other easy digs in there...

"I'm just saying you have to get some better material," Jack groused, but he took the soda and moved on. "And it was pretty good, actually. It's actually kind of disorienting being back here. We did this acoustic set for this little local metal radio station off in the middle of nowhere in Germany this morning, and a couple hours later I'm walking past whatever Skywalker is doing in the park this go-around. It's just weird."

He took a sip.

"How about you?"

"Hi Summer," Stark said. He could say things now since he had stopped being a koala not long after Summer had set out for the bar. He'd had had time to sneak upstairs in a fluffy robe for his own clothes and a shower.

"Nothing eucalyptus flavored. Please."

"Awww, look at you!" Summer beamed when she saw Star coming into the bar actually Stark-shaped for the first time in a week. "You're back! And now you can see what I did with all that brandy I pulled out of the pantry this morning!"

Anything that didn't taste of eucalyptus. ANYTHING.

Now she was sad she didn't have a eucalyptus brandy one to slip in there when he least suspected it!

"I also like you much better as you than as a little bear that isn't really a bear," Summer agreed, as she dutifully set out Stark's shots and started in on a cocktail for him. "Even if you do make for a pretty cute koala."
