What day of the week was it? Who knew! Who cared! The important thing was it was the 31st, and everything else was officially next year's problem.

The bar was done up in a ridiculous amount of Christmas lights, which when paired with the usual metallic balloons and streamers, made for pretty good mood lighting. And sure, the mechanical bull still looked like sort of a lit up monstrosity but it added a certain something to the place.

Okay, the be-lighted mechanical bull was a lot but it was a conversation starter. There was also a countdown to the ball drop on the tv, and plenty of moddable snacks to go with the drink specials.

Kitty was doing her usual rounds of checking in and socializing and getting drink orders, and she was pretty noticeable as she made her way through the party.

Clint had put on the sequined tie that matched Kitty's dress because he may not have had all the answers to love, but that was an easy one.

"You look amazing, the place looks amazing, and I promise to not drink enough to consider riding the bull," he said.

Rey had gotten a lot better with wearing dresses like this, but she was still trying to tug it down from time to time even though she had nothing to worry about. She would not be sitting tonight.

She'd also at some point get her one drink that she'd probably stick with the whole night, but first she wanted to see who all was here.

Gregorith, in his finest all black attire was attending his first ever New Years party. He was also sans disguise because he had decided to go without it more often. Call it a resolution if you will.

Boy oh boy, weren't you all in luck that, for as many similarities it had to the Gregorian calendar, the Ravnican year did not perfectly line up with Earth's after all, so Summer could actually make it here to celebrate!

Okay, okay, she was pretty glad she could make it, too, and that she could spend a fun evening catching up with friends. And looking absolutely amazing, in pink, of course.

Stark had had to do some shopping in order to find a shirt.

A shirt which had glitter on it, so much glitter, courtesy of someone setting off a glitter bomb in his kitchen.

The shirt and most of the glitter were concealed by his new coat.

It was Jaina's last week in Fandom (at least for now, let's be real), and after all the time she'd spent getting things together, she figured it was time for a break and a babysitter. So she got dressed up, got a drink, and planned to leave at 12:01.

Had someone announced that shiny was the theme of the evening? No, they had not, but that was fine, Liliana was rising to the occasion anyway. In a slightly different fashion, of course, but that was only to be expected. The front of her gown was shockingly modest, one might even say conservative (assuming one ignored the slit that started mid-hip, of course), but that was only to set up the back that was conspicuously...less...so.

She entered in on Ignis' arm (of course), though she expected his hand to spent more time on her (lower) back, sweeping in with plenty of fanfare even before the midnight hour struck.

You would think that there would be a limit to what black-on-yet-more-black combinations there were for men and...well, you wouldn't exactly be wrong, but Adrian was trying to find them all. Tonight, he had opted for something a little more casual, though he still had a sport coat neatly folded over one arm. Listen, his mother hadn't raised a complete barbarian, okay?

He looked around the room, grinning as he took in the decorations and the people.

As one might expect, the style of Ignis's suit for the evening was meant to be a reflection and a compliment to Liliana's; far less risqué and elaborate, true, but th3 accoutrements to lend that more regal touch were a glitter and sparkle matched rather well, and there was even a slight velvet touch to the exterior of the cape.

....a cape that he was starting to feel had been a missed opportunity in some of his previous fashion choices.

But hey, after nearly hibernating for a few weeks, he was here! Where people were! And wearing a decent suit!

Look, it was a suit, and he'd bought it, and it fit as well as something off the rack could, and it wasn't blue. Those had been his requirements.

Hey, look, Steph actually existed! Sometimes. She was taking a bunch of pictures of the mechanical bull and texting them to Ryan and Alex with a barrage of capslocked messages like YOU SHOULD TOTALLY BE HERE RIGHT NOW and BET I COULD OUTLAST BOTH OF YOU.

...she had exactly zero intention of actually getting on that bull, because broken limbs would not at all be conducive to playing drums, and she had a gig in a couple of days.
