Fandom High Prom - Part I

City Hall is aglow with the light from the torches. Streamers in blue and yellow line the way for students towards the ballroom. Inside, hangings and other decorations represent the Lost Cities. A working volcano stands in Krakatoa's corner. Seven DVD players are projecting 3D images of the cities as well. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere.

Prom has begun.

"Nope, never heard of it. Doesn't sound fun anyway," John says. "Besides, we like pink. You look good in pink. Pink roses brings out your eyes. Pink is a good color on you. You should wear pink more often."

Aeryn sighs. "I've already threatened two people today. Neither of you want to be part of that trend," she says.

Cameron winces a bit in sympathy. "Yep, cute as a button."

"All right, I will be over here," says Aeryn, pulling away from John and taking five giant steps back, "and you two can be over there. Cameron is getting beaten tomorrow and John? No slumber party."

"So I'll admire the ceiling," Cameron says from where he's drinking from his glass and actually not looking at the ceiling at all, just wishing the punch was spiked already.

"Such violence." John just keeps on smiling. "I'm so in love with you."

"Always." And he kisses her again. Seriously, it's a problem that he can't solve.

She does kiss him back this time. A little. Because she's still self-conscious, but this is also nice.
