Fandom High Prom - Part I

City Hall is aglow with the light from the torches. Streamers in blue and yellow line the way for students towards the ballroom. Inside, hangings and other decorations represent the Lost Cities. A working volcano stands in Krakatoa's corner. Seven DVD players are projecting 3D images of the cities as well. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere.

Prom has begun.

"Are people doing that now?" Angel looked around. If this provided an opportunity for him to see who'd arrived already, it was just multi-tasking.

"Not right now," Callisto said. "Right now they're going, he looks nice in that tux."

"Hmm, no," Angel said, thoughtfully. "I think they're saying she looks beautiful in that red dress."

"Actually, they're probably saying they wish could look as good as that could over there in the tux and red dress."

"I know!" Angel said, snapping his fingers. "They're wondering how on earth a guy like me earned a girl like you."

"Pfft," Callisto snorted. "They're really all thinking if only they could steal the vampire."

"He's not stealable," Angel said. "He's a one-person at a time kind of vamp."

"Exactly." He kissed her on the cheek. "Shall we smile for the camera now?"
