Fandom High Prom - Part I

City Hall is aglow with the light from the torches. Streamers in blue and yellow line the way for students towards the ballroom. Inside, hangings and other decorations represent the Lost Cities. A working volcano stands in Krakatoa's corner. Seven DVD players are projecting 3D images of the cities as well. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere.

Prom has begun.

[ooc: Wait for the OCD threads or suffer my wrath. Done! But please wait for the music threads to go up before dancing. Prom II will be going up in about two hours. Later.]

Maia smiled as Ivanova said this and she whispered "So smile for me." She breathed the words against Ivanova's neck.

Ivanova favoured her with a genuinely sweet smile before resting her cheek against Maia's hair, her eyes closing. Her dancing became less dancing than swaying in place.

Maia pulled her body in as close as she could to Susan's as they swayed. Her fingers rubbing gently around the back of Susan's neck with the rhythm of the music.

Ivanova purred at the gentle massage, her hand spread across Maia's back but not wandering any lower, just keeping them close together. She might even have sung a couple of lines, mumbled under her breath. But, as Tonks had been fond of telling her, the Sex Pistols she wasn't.

Maia smiled as she caught a few of the words Ivanova was singing. Closing her eyes she kept her hand going as a shiver went through her as Ivanova kept them close. She liked the feeling of having her near and holding her.

The song was over, suddenly it seemed, and Ivanova reluctantly opened her eyes and moved away slightly, reluctant to relinquish her hold on the other girl. "Song's over," she said, reporting for the redundancy department of redundancy.

Maia looked surprised that it had ended so suddenly. "Oh." She was sorry to feel Ivanova leave her embrace. "Thank you for the dance." She said quietly "It was wonderful." She didn't want to move away from her completely, why couldn't they just play the song over again.

"It was," Ivanova agreed. She lifted a hand and stroked her thumb over Maia's cheek before stepping away entirely with a grin. "I should get back to my date."

Maia's eyes fluttered shut for a moment at Ivanova's caress, "Mmhmm." She said opening her eyes all the way when Ivanova's touch left her. "Yeah." She said smiling at her.

"Maybe we can pick up again later," she murmured, with a suggestive lift to her eyebrows. "In private." And with that, she turned and swayed off the dancefloor towards Pip.
