Fandom High Prom - Part I

City Hall is aglow with the light from the torches. Streamers in blue and yellow line the way for students towards the ballroom. Inside, hangings and other decorations represent the Lost Cities. A working volcano stands in Krakatoa's corner. Seven DVD players are projecting 3D images of the cities as well. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere.

Prom has begun.

[ooc: Wait for the OCD threads or suffer my wrath. Done! But please wait for the music threads to go up before dancing. Prom II will be going up in about two hours. Later.]

Elizabeth thought as they moved to the music and immediately blushed. "Um. We could talk about future plans either of us might have?" Yeah. Not her first thought there.

"You know, that's rather obvious when you're wearing white," murmured Janet. "Future plans, hm? That sounds promising."

Elizabeth was still slightly pink. "Well, yeah. I mean, I hear you're interested in medical school," she smirked slighlty.

"I think medical school is a good idea," said Janet, giving Liz a slight frown, but not really meaning it. "Especially as I'd like to be a doctor someday. When I'm all grown up."

"See, I think you'd make a brilliant doctor," Elizabeth said, completely innocently. "You're so kind and caring and compassionate. And I bet you'd look great in a lab coat." She leant in close to Janet's ear and whispered "Just a lab coat."

"I'm going to get you for that," muttered Janet. Then, slightly louder, "You're flattering me quite a bit tonight. Hopefully I'll have a good bedside manner."

Elizabeth winked. "I certainly hope so," she whispered. "Oh, I can assure you this is all sincere praise," she smiled, before dropping her voice again. "And I've never had a reason to fault your bedside manner. Or your manner in bed."

"I was thinking of spending the night in town," whispered Janet. "I'd hate to think it was hollow flattery. That would make me awfully sad." Janet pursed her lips and tried not to smile. "I should hope not," she murmured.

"Oh. Okay then," Elizabeth said. "Not at all. I've never been anything but honest around you. Ever," she said. She smiled and pulled her closer. Space? What space?

"Parker suggested we push a certain individual into the duck pond," said Janet. She grinned mischievously. "I know. I've always appreciated that." Who needed space? Space was boring.

Elizabeth giggled. "That sounds like... well, an unorthodox ending to the evening, but an appropriate one," she said. Her eyes darkened slightly. "Although maybe it won't be the end end?" Elizabeth smiled. "And I can honestly say that I want to kiss you right now."

"Highly appropriate, given his level of obliviousness," said Janet. "And no, I doubt it will really be the final, ah, culmination of my night." Janet's eyes widened. "Right now? Here?" She might have sounded a little panicked.

"That? Is good to know," she murmured. Elizabeth held her firmly. "Yes, right now. Right here," she said. "Either that, or I'm going to drag you into the ladies room and ravish you." She hadn't actually been planning on that, but now that she'd thought of it, the more that second idea was actually appealing.

"I'll take option two," said Janet. Because first of all, it wasn't right out in public, never mind the fact that they were dancing together without an inch of space between them. And second, ravishing sounded kind of like fun right now. If inadvisable fun, given the amount of security around tonight.

"What about both?" Elizabeth suggested, leaning down to gently brush her lips against Janet's.

"Okay," said Janet, her eyes fluttering closed.
