Fandom High Prom - Part I

City Hall is aglow with the light from the torches. Streamers in blue and yellow line the way for students towards the ballroom. Inside, hangings and other decorations represent the Lost Cities. A working volcano stands in Krakatoa's corner. Seven DVD players are projecting 3D images of the cities as well. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere.

Prom has begun.

[ooc: Wait for the OCD threads or suffer my wrath. Done! But please wait for the music threads to go up before dancing. Prom II will be going up in about two hours. Later.]

Parker grinned, and grabbed his hand, doing something like a modified jitterbug out from the flailing. "You did, didn't you? How many guys can say that, hunh? Survived all that, and a Prom with Bridge Carson. And a dance with me."

"Can't speak to how many guys have survived a dance with you, though I gotta admit to a certain curiosity about the stats on how many haven't." Xander couldn't exactly swing, but he had a basic idea of the concept, and didn't manage to knock himself over trying to keep up with Parker. "Pretty sure I'm it for surviving a Prom with Bridge, though. Not that I've actually survived it yet."

"No one worth mentioning," Parker said airily. "And if you can survive me, you can survive this dance. Although the pictures around the volcano say otherwise."

Xander eyed her warily. "Do I wanna know? Also, do I wanna know what the words to this song mean?"

"No, and.... no." Parker's grin brightened evilly. "But at least things have to be looking up, now that we're both less romantically confused?"

"Less? Dude, I'm--" Xander snorted. "Turning into Bridge, apparently."

He made to spin her out and, hopefully, not send her crashing into a wall. Or... Jaye and Cam, who were currently tangoing around the dancefloor.

"There's no less, there's just... going with it, I guess. Confusion seems to be a steady state for me, so I might as well learn to enjoy it."

Parker spun out and back, narrowly avoiding Jaye, and laughed. "Okay, more confused, but more satisfied. That work?" She gave him a wicked smile.

Xander looked thoughtful for a second. "...You know... yeah, actually it probably does."

"Yay!" And Parker spun back, then got Xander in a fake-tango pose. "You ready to do this?"

Over the conflicting beat of the song actually playing, Xander hum-sang, " Blacken my eye, set fire to my tie, as we dance to the Masochism Tango..."

Parker cracked up, then hummed along. "See, we had to dance to our song at Prom. Somehow."
