Caritas - Open [6/27]

Veronica was still running on nerves and caffeine when she got to work. She was grateful to see Tino was back from wherever he'd been, though he snorted at her when she asked if he'd had a nice vacation.

Aaron hadn't appeared to her again since Anakin chased him off. She was hoping that was a good sign, even though Piper hadn't been able to help her.

"Singing is obligatory," Walter agreed. "You can't miss out on that."

"Okay. Feeling it. Singing." Blair nodded and scribbled them down on his notebook sloppily before finishing up the blue drink and ordering something green.

"Should I sing now or wait till I've gone through more colors?"

"Ohhh, definitely wait. It's more fun if you wait."

She was not going to say who it would be more fun for.

Blair nodded and slowly sipped his green drink. "So how are you guys tonight?"

Walter was watching Blair go through his drinks and just waiting for the moment when the alcohol really hit. Not that he was stinting on his own consumption.

"I'm doing well. Burns in first aid, singing in our later workshop, and a quiet day at the restaurant."

"Okay," Nadia said, without elaborating. She sipped at her drink and kept casting glances at Veronica, then around the bar.

Blair would have totally been paying attention, except he was busy filling out the next ditto.

Walter was paying attention and cocked his head questioningly at Nadia.

Nadia practiced her skills from Scoobying that day and hopefully gave Walter a look that said "I'll tell you later."

Blair had gotten his next drink, something sorta purple and was halfway through when he blinked at them. "Hey Walter. Weren't you gay a little while ago?"

Walter widened his eyes and waved Tino over for a refresh on his drink.

"Ahh... I've revised that recently."

And how.

Nadia figured that Blair was on his way to full on drunkeness. Though it was hard to tell.

"Did you like Nadia before she turned into a boy?" He blinked at Walter over the top of his drink and then turned to look at Nadia. "Is he a better kisser after all the boykissy?"

Walter may have blanched a little. "She makes an attractive boy, but I like her as a girl, too."

Nadia gulped down the rest of her drink, ordering another from Tino. "I don't know, I didn't kiss him before all the boykissy?"

"That's cool, man." Blair grinned and reached over to give Walter an umbrella. "It's nice that you love everyone. Just don't do animals because I think I'm morally against that."

Blair grinned up at Tino and passed him the empty purple glass. "Orange me, man!"

"No animals," Walter agreed, wondering if non-humans would be an issue in Blair's spectrum. "I'm morally against that, too."

He finished off his lager and lime while he watched Tino pass over an orange drink and grinned. "How are you feeling now?"

Blair bounced on his seat and listed a little sideways. "I feel great!" He slurped on the orange drink while he finished the next ditto.

5. I want to figure out who else is not gay.

Nadia peered over Blair's shoulder to read the "ditto". "Maybe you should have us fill them out, too, for comparison?"

Now why the hell had she said that?

Walter looked at what Nadia was reading and restrained a facepalm. Was it this weird for guys who just figured out that they were gay as it was for him figuring out that he was... flexible?

"Right. Blair, I think you might want a glass of water before you go too much farther."

Blair grinned and handed over a stack of dittos before asking Tino for a glass of water.

"So should I sing now or what till I've had more colors. Cause I think there are lots more colors and umbredlass. Ubmrellas. Those little things."

"Well, now, that depends. Do you know what you want to sing?"

Blair passed Tino the empty water glass and accepted something yellow to drink. "I like Kumbayah."

Hmm. He could still pronounce the word. "Maybe a few more."

"I don't know that one," Walter said, quite impressed by Blair's stamina. "But I think you'd best be singing something soon."

He glanced at Nadia as they gave Blair conflicting advice and snickered.
